BioShock DirectX 10 vs DirectX 9 Performance and Image Quality @ Firingsquad
Source: Firingsquad
_______________ When it was released in 1994, SystemShock sent waves throughout the industry. System Shock was a graphical tour de force. The game was the first first-person shooter (FPS) to feature true 3D environments and with proper audio hardware, the game even offered speech playback. In terms of important gameplay, System Shock was more than just an FPS, it was actually more of a hybrid FPS/adventure game with role-playing elements mixed in as well. System Shock wasn’t just another run-and-gun find the key to unlock the next room FPS, it actually featured an engaging storyline. |

Well from reading this DX10 is yet again not worth upgrading to unless you already are building a new computer...
Like they pointed out the smoke from the gun and the shadow's are the only main differences and to me thats not very special.... What do you guys think? |

It looks very good on my (DX9)X1900XT 256mb and so does the new MOH demo. Both look great and get good frame rates for me @1280x1024 16AF 2xAA. I'm very happy with that and the way I see it is that I'll be upgrading to DX10 hardware when the second generation cards come out. Most likely after some price drops of the second gen DX 10 cards

I agree this generation of cards is worth skipping imo. Until dx10 offers truly great graphics I don't see the point in the upgrade. Besides 7xxx series and x19xx are just fine still. I'm waiting till ATi bring out a TRUE flagship card (yes I am a fanboy)
