Gearbox, 2K Games Announce Sci-Fi Shooter Borderlands For 2008

Developer Gearbox Software is moving away from the World War II setting of its acclaimed Brothers in Arms franchise with its current project, Borderlands, an upcoming sci-fi themed shooter for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

However, the project is still some time from being released, with Take-Two subsidiary 2K Games announcing that it will publish the title during the 2008 holiday season.

Similar to the Brothers in Arms titles, Borderlands will feature first-person gameplay, alongside other elements such as player customization, real-time physics, and vehicular combat.
