Lost Planet Performance and DX10 @ [H] Enthusiast

Source: [H] Enthusiast
_______________
The first game to support DirectX 10 out of the box is on the shelves. We will take a quick look at GPU performance scaling as well as DX9 versus DX10 image quality with screenshot comparisons. Is it time to upgrade to Vista for DX10?

God i ENVY these people with the kind of rigs they get to use.
I absolutely hated that port of Lost planet though, i tried running it at 640x480 with NO fancy stuff on, managed to average 20 fps, but it still kept coming up with that message about insufficient performance requirements or something.

And as for spending about $2000 on upgrading to a Fully DX10 Capable card with any power at all in it (ie. an 8800) and upgrading to vista, AND upgrading the rest of the hardware that prolly needs upgrading i don't think it's worth it until DX10 really looks better.

sorry, not impressed
