'Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back' (PS3/X360/PC) Revealed
Source: Worthplaying
_______________
It has been a while since we heard anything from Activision's Soldier of Fortune franchise, but that is all about to change. Making its first appearance since Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix back in 2002, SoF: Pay Back will also make its next-gen console debut. Whether Raven Soft will once again make limbs fly all over our screen was not revealed, so hopefully more will become clear in a few weeks time at E3. As it stands now, Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back is scheduled for a November release, but that is most likely to change.

Good news. No matter what the controversy regarding these games (violence wise), they were both great first person shooters. I hope the sequel will be at least as good and they don't back down and have some nerfed SF game.

any one notice update #2?
"UPDATE #2: Our source confirmed that SoF: Pay Back is indeed in development, although not by RavenSoft but rather by Activision's internal Minneapolis studio, known for the Cabelas titles."
not a single cabelas game has scored over a 7.4 on ign, mot of them sitting at 5.5-6.3. not a good sign for SOF3.

As long as you can shoot limbs off it'll be a winner in my books.

SoF2DH has some of the best netcode ever written and is very fun online. I'll bet I have 2000 hours at least inside that game. I still play it about once a month and I can't believe how many servers there are still. I don't like the idea that Ravensoft in not making the game though, so we will see. Are they still around?

Yes, Activision Value will be the publisher for PayBack but it is being developed by Cauldron on Slavokia. I have heard many rumors on what engine they will use, I found a post in Raven's forums that it will be the Unreal engine.
