Ambitious developer Blade Interactive has announced plans to enter the middleware market with the release of the Infinite Worlds development system.
The system is designed to put control back into the hands of the designer, allowing on-the-fly changes in environmental design to be tested out for immediate feedback.
"Next-generation calls for new ways of thinking. Infinite Worlds allows games to be created in a completely new way," commented Gary Leach, development director at Blade.
"It places the designers in the driving seat and at the same time unifies the whole company through Infinite Worlds – whether they are programmers or artists."
