Much like the Michael Bay-directed film on which it is based, the upcoming Transformers video game has had many of its details kept tightly under wraps in order to stay coordinated with a strict marketing schedule, formulated to ensure fans of those giant transforming robots stay as curious and tantalized as possible. With the release date of both film and game approaching, publisher Activision demonstrated the game in playable form on Xbox 360 earlier this week, with representatives also sharing some details about the Nintendo DS and PSP versions of the game. Traveller's Tales, developer of the Lego Star Wars franchise as well as the upcoming Lego Batman, is crafting the home console and PC versions of the game while the handheld specialists at Vicarious Visions, responsible for Tony Hawk's American Sk8land (NDS) are developing the DS titles Transformers: Autobots and Transformers: Decepticons. Finally, Savage Entertainment, which recently developed the PSP version of Pandemic's Star Wars: Battlefront 2, is taking on the PSP game.
