Shivering Isles Reference Bug and Fix

A very serious bug has been found with Shivering Isles that will render the game unplayable in many ways after about 50 to 120 hours of play (better FPS means bug hits earlier). The bug will occur regardless of whether you access SI content or not. The basis of bug is that an internal "space" of identification numbers for objects created in the game (e.g., a dropped arrow, a new creature, etc.) becomes exhausted -- at which point the newly created objects disappear from the game world. It is not known whether this affects Xbox users as well (it is reasonable to assume that it would, but might not hit until around 150 hours of play assuming 30 FPS on Xbox).

I'm surprised at the number of bugs in this game. I started mine the other day to discover I'd lost all my inventory and equiped items. I also get many seemingly crashes. Never had an issue with the original game.

I've been getting rampant display corruption in this game. It'll go through a door or open my inventory and suddenly my screen is all garbled multicolor blocks, ALT-TAB to desktop then back to game fixes it but then within minutes the game usually has an error.

Has anyone specifically experienced the bug posted above? A glace around the net finds it to be pretty rampant. Dyre, we're looking in your direction.

I hit a bug on the original after about 100 hours. I couldnt save inside anything be it building, town, cave or oblivion gate. I had to be standing out in the open. It was fixed after the first patch though.

So far, the only issue I've had at all is that the game will CTD once in a while. It seems this happens only when a big battle commences. At least that's the only times it's done it so far.
I've played and played and played this game (over 577 hours of total play for Oblivion; Knights of the Nine; and Shivering Isles) so far.
There's only one other possible 'bug' I've come across and that's a staff that hangs in the air in front of Dyus, the character who rebuilds Sheogorath's staff. I returned to him/her after awhile and saw the staff there. It isn't retrievable, as I already possess the staff.
I also haven't applied any patches since installing S/I, either.
