S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl -- Single Player Mode @ Shacknews
Preview: Shacknews
_______________
It's not often that constantly delayed games live up to the hype that builds over years of waiting, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl certainly has the potential. The dreariness of a burnt out, post-apocalyptic environment; the necessity to loot the bodies of friends in order to survive; and the realization that a handful of bullets and a protein bar are worth more than any amount of money are feelings I haven't experienced since playing Fallout. After spending a significant amount of time with the single player beta of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., I can tell you that the Zone is a very fun place to be.

Wow, that is the first thing I've read on the SP modes, and it looks really great. I can't wait for this freakin game.

39.99 is right.
I guess they felt bad for the delays but this game is goin to sell like crazy.
C&C comes out the same day and Shivering Isles shortly after.
Yay for march!

This game is a 9.99 game, or it should be. Its not worth 39.99. This game stinks bad.

everything about the game to me so far screams Oblivion, but as an FPS in chernobyl. and that is not a bad thing at all.
after playing the beta for awhile i can see it needs a bit of polishing, but overall it looks like it should be an excellent game.

I tried the MP beta2.. On a 8800GTX it is AWESOME gfxs! Runs really smooth, 7900 and 1900 will handle it fine too.
I never liked MP games without vehicles, so i wont get into mp..
The atmosphere in the game is really nice, small tornados, lightning, time-wrap-holes-thingies.. It feels like HL2, but much more dynamic.
hehe true oblivion missions were fine, although too far a part..
I think actions in stalker have greater consequences than in oblivion.
I like the he-has-bandaids-I-dont-BANG! :-)
