It has been a good week on the legal front for the Entertainment Software Association. Fresh off of victories in
Illinois and
Louisiana, the gaming industry trade group has now been awarded $182,349 in legal fees by a US District Court Judge in Michigan.
Last year, Michigan passed a law banning the sale of violent video games to minors. The ESA sued, arguing that the law was unconstitutional. As has been the case in every other state where similar laws have been passed, the judge
agreed with the gaming industry. Saying that the state "has been unable to demonstrate the perceived harm it seeks to protect against," Judge George Steeh overturned the law.
