Violent games blamed for German school attack

Read More/Source: Reuters
_______________
BERLIN (Reuters) - Leading German lawmakers demanded a crackdown on violent computer and simulated war games on Tuesday over concerns that they may have helped inspire a young man to attack his former school with guns and explosives.

The masked 18-year-old man stormed the Scholl secondary school on Monday in the western German town of Emsdetten, wounding as many as 27 people before committing suicide.

The young man, identified only as Bastian B., was known to authorities and due in court on Tuesday for weapons violations, local police said. According to German media reports, he had a fondness for war simulation and computer games.

I think we know how we all would respond on this forum.

Here is a list of so called non-violent games.
http://www.killology.com/art_trained_nonviolent.htm

But wait:
Sim City has disasters that could kill virtual millions.
Myst is about a blood feud between brothers and the downfall of a thriving civilization.
NASCAR teaches us that we can drive like maniacs and not get a scratch.
Tetris is a game developed by a Russian Communist (not someone the Christian Right would approve of) and pinball causes carpal tunnel syndrome.

Also outlaw Flight Simulator X since it inspires people to crash airplanes without dying.

Another case of finding someone to blame for failure to raise children properly.

Sure the games made them do it. The fucked up situation in Europe has nothing to do with it, the games are the reason...

Agreed, this world we live in shoves the blame onto everyone else, but themselves.

i've played plenty of violent games,, do you see me going out blowing the heads off of the people that annoy me,.. sure i might want to.. but the fact i don't indicates that i am a clear minded reasonable person.
