On launch day PS3 smashed into pieces in the US
Source: ITWire
__________
First it was the iPod, then an Xbox 360. A PSP has also been smashed into pieces, and now, on launch day, to the horror of PS3 owners-to-be waiting in lines across the country, a PS3 has been smashed into bits in front of a Best Buy crowd.
Here’s where you can visit the SmashmyPS3 website, which links to this video showing you all of the action.

Some radio station near me is going to send a PS3 over the falls. They decided to do this when they asked the winner of a PS3 from a contest they were holding what he was going to do with it. Of course the answer was sell it on ebay. I think they might be blowing it up also, someone called in and said they had a T2000 and 30feet of waterproof fuse... but I missed the end of the conversation.

sounds like something Project 9-6-1 in atlanta would do.
They held their own little "Red Paper Clip" event for red hot chili peppers back stage passes. [they ended up taking a semi truck full of beer, or something ridiculous]
Anyways, I think it's itneresting just how many PS3's are getting demolished. With only 200,000 at launch, the percentages have to piss people off.
"Yea....ummm......the average PS3 consumer [58%] made $1,200 profit on a console we lost $300 on, and then another 7% of the consumers made youTube immortality by finding new and more extravagant ways to litter the landscape with our latest creation...this means only 35% of the consumers actually bought one for honest video gaming, and of them, another 4% had TVs that didn't get along with the PS3....so we have roughly 25% of our 200,000 launch devices currently being used"
....yea....bet that analyst gets axed at the next board meeting

funny or not its a waste, $650 would feed quite a few homeless this holiday season
or help buy some blankets, help keep some of the thousands of homeless who
end up freezeing to death survive...
It makes as much since to take out $650 and burn it....

Hell, then why don't you donate your over $1,000 computer to the homeless or sell it and give them the money?
If someone wants to purchase something and go through waiting in line and such to do so just to destroy it, its their property so let them.

My point is there is no problem with destroying something you own.
And if someone is goin to make the "They could have given the money to the homeless or the needy" statement maybe they should look at themselves and how they spend money and how much money they have given to the needy before judging others.
It makes perfect sense.

they should ebay it as the smashmyps3.com PS3, raise some money for the homeless, that sounds like a plan.
