Directx 9.0 Feb
I got the latest Directx that came out ten days ago. I'm not sure what they did, but whatever it is, Quake4, HL2 , Mohaa are running smother with a better FBS. And the graphic is crispier and nicer.
Didnt waste my time to bench anything, it's just my personal feel before and after.

Over 5 game tested. I must admit that its a beautiful update to do. I got 10-15 more FPS in CS:S and DOD:S. I got 10 on FEAR and COD2 whch its really great!! I got 5-10 more on NFSMW.. Game runs smoothier for me i guess. Radeon + DX 9Feb = Pwn!!

Well, I guess i'll give it a try if there are actual improvements. I never update DX, still running the first DX9.0c probably.

Hmm ... I wish if this was really something everyone should install they would call it DirectX 9.0d or something.

Good point. It's probably one of those things that only gives better performance by suggestion (like most driver sets, IMO).

It's not really a huge update per se. They've been releasing revision updates/builds for months. The only difference for the February one is the performance increases people are claiming. Larger updates like 9.0b -> 9.0c gave features like SM3.0.

When it was installing there was a screen that said it would replace files that where updated.. you should have seen some files being installed as the progress bar was going. You should also know it was installed by running any game.. the gains are noticeable across the board. FEAR was at least 10fps for me.

I'd like to see some hard evidence, like benchmarks before and after- I can't believe there us that much of a difference. I have it installed, but haven't tested yet.

Ok, are these the files? Are all of them there? I used the SDK (or whatever that link was in my other post)... not the web update.

Yes those look to be the same as from the net download, NINE updated files:
EDIT: Those updated files show a install date and not the creation date. If someone where to install them tomorrow and check they should see 2/15 on those files.
Sorry I can't provide 'hard evidence' for you dude, I'm just saying I noticed a difference, that should be enough. >shrug<
