Building new Gaming Rig-Post Thoughts, PLEASE!.
This is my first attempt at building a pc. I have been researching it for a few months, and I'm trying to build the best possible, but using a certain amount of budget restraint.
I look forward to any comments on any of the components, good or bad. Thanks in advance. I would agree with the PSU remark. Also, for a "gaming rig", a better GPU may be in order, if you plan on using it for a while, without upgrading.

I would get a GeForce 7800GT and a 420W Antec PSU. Then you'd be sorted

Also, i would recommend upgrading the CD-RW drive to DVD-RW. You can get a decent one now for under $100. DVDs are definitely the way to go. I also agree with upgrading the GPU. You cab get a 7800GT for about $300 for OEM. I have a 7800GT in my case right now i must say its the best bang for your buck.

beefier video card, definately, and a "name brand" PSU isnt a bad idea.....for that system, 450 watt and up will easily handle it, and a 420 probably would be OK.
