Default Post Ghost Recon, need some help in a bad way

Alas, I am am saddened again .
Maybe Omega, or Cyborg can figure this out, or anyone else for that matter.
Anything above the 6043's, and Ghost Recon, freezes up on me during exit of a game. It hard locks me so bad I have to reset. I can't even control the keyboard light or anything.
I wanna use the Omega/Plut drivers, but I play GR alot. It seems to be the only game that locks up so far, that I have found.
Any Ideas is most appreciated. I'm despreate, Help me!!!!!

UPDATE:
I found an interesting glitch, maybe it will help someone figure this out better.
If I set my game to 640x480, be it 32 bit or 16 bit, or 24 bit, I come out of the game quick as can be. The higher I set my Resolution for the game, the longer it takes to exit the game. I set it at 800x600, and it acts like it's locked up, but 2 seconds later it gets to the menu. If I set it to 1024x768, it take FOREVER to exit to the menu, like 5 mins long forever. I'll do some more testing and playing around, but this seems to be the main flaw. Thing is this doesn't happen with the 6043's, anythng past the 6043's it acts this way.
Hope this helps.

Another Update:
Well I have narrowed it down to it haveing something to do with 32 bit mode. If I run anything is 32 bit, it takes forever to get back to the menu, if at all. Haven't really had the patience to sit and wait it out. I have tested 1024x768x32, 800x600x32, and 640x480x32, and all 3 have the same effect. If I run in 16 bit, it doesn't take as long to get to the menu. I can run max detail, max lod, max shadows, max everything, with 32 bit Z-buffer, and a res of 16bits, and it does fine. The only time I get the glitch is in 32 bit res.
It doesn't have this issue in the 6043's. So what gives, did ATI change a setting or a file in thier newer drivers?
Anyways, I'm outta Ideas, so if anyone has any, I'm open for suggestions.

Default Post I HAD SAME PROBLEM...!

Hey easyrider...man, I had the same problem! You're right about the drivers being the problem. I'm currently using 'Omega XP 1152' drivers at 1024 by 768; shadows disabled; max setting for everything else, no problems

I have actually put a post in myself about this...Cyborg will be looking into it
Hope he can fix it cause his new set of drivers are brilliant.

yep same here. I have even done further testng, with no luck .

I have also emailed ati, and filled the feedback page out daily, and will continue, till I...
1: get other than an automated response.
2: get a soliution or fix.
I will increase my sednings to them every week till they absolutely get sic of hearing from me.
I buy a $200 plus card, and have to use old drivers, this is sorta messed up.
Why not use the 6043's?......sure, I am, but fact is, newer drivers can mean better visual, fixes and speed increase, in wich the new catalyst have, for me at least. The speed isnt a factor really, but it helps, it's the visual I like. The IQ in these new drivers, just makes me drool. it's like playing games all over again. I played Mohaa and about fainted at the stunning IQ it had. I reverted back to the 6043's and the visuals just aint the same ....like washed out in a way, or dull looking .
newer isn't always better, this is a fact, but in this case newer IS better, but since I can't use them, it's kinda sad, and disapointing.
Things I tried were:
-every driver from 6043's and up, and I do mena every one, and only the 6043's worked with gr and max payne, and everything else.
-diableing sound exceleration under dxdiag. I even tried all 4 settings, just to see if it'd help, and still got lockups.
-setting agp 4x and 2x.
-setting arpeture size 64, 128, and 32. Setting it to 32 seems to help a little bit, but still had the issues.
-setting desktop to 16 bit, and 640x480 res befoire starting the game.
-setting the settings in the game down to the lowest.
-adjsuting settings one by one in the game, and testing it.
-adjusting the d3d settings in the ati tabs, one by one, and testing it.
I've probably missed some things I tested, but as you can see I have run it thru the ringer, thoroughly, and still locks up.
the adjusting part above of the settings, took me awhile, since if I had lockups I would have to reboot.
In conclusion, after many hrs/days, of testing and re-testing, I still have the lockups.
Only thing I have not tested and done is hardware, but the 6043's work fine, and als that has changed is the drivers, not the game, not the hardware, so why is it they work and the after ones do not....I say they messed something, or changd something with d3d in the newer drivers.
I just wonder when ati is gonna fix this, if ever.
Well ati? I have yet to hear antyhing but auto-responses from you all, so where's the fix....or is there any? if not I'll maybe have to convert to the dark side, dare I say it.....nvidia....gasp, I said it.
lets hope ATI gets a fix for this, cause I'm running out of patience.

LOL, you shush you .....actually I'm just ranting I guess. 3 revisions and still aint fixed, just annoying is all, but...these work, and they do what is needed. I gues I shouldn't have even tried the catalyst drivers, cause I wouldn't be so upset, since I wouldn't have seen the difference. Some say they don't see the IQ difference, but for me? man Mohaa never looked SO good.
Oh well, I guess these work for now, and with no issues, so I'll deal with it and hope ati will fix it, or else maybe good ole cyborg/omega can make a set that works with GR.

For me, setting AGP Aperture to 32mb fixed the problem big time. I was able to go through the entire game without a single freeze or stutter.
