fear question
this is a random question, the game runs excellent i run it at 2xfsaa 16x af max details (except textures, cant support it) and pull of 30-40fps....
but these 2 pop machines look so freaking familiar:
i've seen it in another game, splinter cell maybe?

btw, this game creeped me out. I got to the hall with the flash hang lights, and then was scared shitless from then on out. I actually did a horrified homer yell at one point.

That's great you get that performance out of a 9700. I was afraid this was going to be another Doom3 performance disaster. The game looks great, better than Doom3, and probably has way better gameplay.
I've seen similar pop machines. I think the ones in SC:CT say squirt.

i know ive seen the exact cherry cola one somewhere, i think max payne uses some of gta's ads.
performance on doom 3 is even better acutally for me, even without any tweaking i pull of a smooth 60 fps @1024x768 max details with 2x temporal fsaa and 16af.
bf2 i get raped, bf2 is so inefficient even though it has such a thick size. but both games have amazing sound. bf2 has the outdoor done a lot better, these guys do the indoor aboslutely like a movie. gunshots sounds amazing

Wow this game runs great for the graphics. I get excellent fps on the extreme settings 2xFSAA 8XAF. Anyone know if there's a benchmark utility to find average fps. I'm sure there will be a tweak guide some time soon even though this game already seems to be very efficient.

yup, you go down the ladder and through the tunnel. the only doors that will open will have a hand appear on them.

Use F key to open doors. Well, that's the default key (it opens doors). It's the use key.

This game should be good. For some reason, my menu display disappeared and won't come back, hopefully just a demo glitch.

Thats because you are an uber tough pimpsta and im an old fart.
Seriously though, scared is a little extreme, we all know its a game, but there are key parts in the demo that get the heart pounding, well they did for me anyway - it helps to play in a dark room with gigaworks speakers cranked on a dell 2405 though . I quite liked the demo, some wonderful use of audio and lighting. Im looking forward to the end product now, I wasnt after the first demo.

If I have an Athlon XP2600, with 1gb memory, and a 5900XT, should I spend the 200-300 for a Radeon x800xt, and will I see a dramatic difference in this demo? I'm just interested in if somebody has already updgarded their Graphix card and has a decent CPU. I just would liek to know how the demo is running on a system like that.

it wasnt scary to me, it was scarier than doom 3 but i think if the scary stuff is slower its much better. video games develop too fast it sucks. few games take the time to explain the story, have the long cutscenes (on top of even more gameplay). it was scary, but if there was more random events leading up to that, more random encounters even during firefights lets say (or have these events spawn randomly instead of it being expected like usual) it would be a hell of a lot scarier. i mean in doom 3 when something was going to happen, it was predictable. this one too.
