Morrowind **SPOILER** Question
OK, here goes:
I have started this game again for at least the 4th time. At one time I had a Level 29 Character and then had a computer crash and lost all progress.
This time, I've encountered something that never did happen during my previous attempts. I'm at Level 6 now and have visited the Camp at the upper end of the island/continent. I passed the tests and I'm now on my way back to Maar Gan and hope to get to Balmora to visit with Caius again.
Here's the catch: I keep getting 'vampiric' infection. Should I deal with this this early in the game, or get to a temple and be healed? I still have a LOT.....LOT of things to do before having to kill off everyone that doesn't like vampires.
So, I'm sort of asking for some opinions/guidance on this.
Thanks!

Don't ever keep vampiric infection, if you can sure it do so. The plot will be lost if you become a Vampire. Same thing kinda happened to me, I got corprus in the game, and found the island where they cure you, but b4 I had arrived there earlier and murder everyone in there and looted the damn place. I was a master assasin thief about 6 different times. You have to be careful who you kill and who you steal from. You can always go back after the main plot, so I would recomend that you do the main plot and do any side quests that don't disrupt the main one. Its a very fun game, you should be about level 30 when you finish, I was about level 60 when I finished the first time. Do not join any of the houses or the morag tong until the end of the game. Chameleon is far better than invisibility. Hope that helps

Thanks for all the tips.
About the name: No, not from the band.
I actually came up with the name while playing Baldur's Gate -- the original. I kept finding myself always in 'dire straits' so, I did a little tweak on the spelling to make it look more 'medieval'.
EDIT: BTW, the corprus thing happened to me once, too. I think I had to go to a Telvanni Priest to be healed. Does that sound right?

hahaha I know what you mean, I was a Baulder Junkie also, I still believe its better than Diablo 2. I think I'm the only person I know that has ever killed Drizzt, took about 30 assasins all doin backstab on him at the same time then wailing on him till he fell, he took out half of my assasins and almost killed me. BTW Drizzt is that blue guy with the dual swords who is like the main good guy of the whole game.

Did you ever play Neverwinter Nights? How about any of its sequels? I love those games, too!

My quest continues with "MORROWIND".
I've finally reached the Fourth Test and have gotten the Redoran Counsilors to approve me. One of them couldn't be convinced and challenged me to a duel. I love the Ancestor Ghost, Skeletal Minion, and Bonewalker spells....AND, my Silver and Dwemer Jinkswords.
I've also reached Level 10 in my skills...and it looks like I have a LONG ways to go before completing the plot of this game. What a game!

It is possible to become a vampire, complete the vampire quests, get cured of vampirism, and still finish the main game.
For all your Morrowind needs I would suggest that you head over to this forum where all your questions will be answered.

Hope this helps

Thanks!
I'm simply enjoying the effort to stick with the plot at this point. I've started this game already a few times and got interrupted due to system problems. In my previous endeavors, I had really no idea what I was supposed to be doing. All I knew was that I was having a whale of a time enjoying the game.
But, this time, I decided to do what I could to stick with whatever any main plot would be. It's really getting interesting!!!

So far, no. LOL! After trying to finish this game for over two years now, I really DO want to finish it.
I'm at Level 13 now, got into Percervius room at Ald'Ruhn and got all his glass armor.
I'm ready now to try to get the Telvanni House to declare me their Hortator. Already have two houses that have done so.
This is the farthest I've gotten with the 'plot' than ever before. I completely lost my progress previously due to system crashes, etc. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can complete this this time around.

OK, new question:
Down in the Telvanni town that's on the island SE of Vivec: There's a group outside the city that is challenging one of the women in the city. I found her captain and was told that if I'd take care of these challengers, I'd get a 1000 gold coins.
Well, I've taken care of that situation and gotten the gold. The captain told me he'd talk to his boss and mention my name.
Here's the rub: He's stuck over on the hillside on the other side of the river and nothing is mentioned about me when I go up to talk to the lady. She still just rambles on and on and on and gets ticked off if I interrupt her.
My question is -- Does this guy ever go and talk to her or do I have to do something else to get the situation remedied? I've already talked to everyone I can find and have even gone down into the tomb. I'm running out of ideas.

No one in the game actually goes and talks to another AI besides urself. But it should have went through, sometimes the game doesn't pick it up.

I'm thinking that it's a bug or something.
Yes, I realize they won't physically go and do it. For sake of explanation, I described it that way. Usually, though, the character will move around. This guy was beneath a bridge-like structure when I first talked to him. Then he moved across the river and is stuck up in the hills.
No one is even mentioning how I got rid of the challengers. So, something's wrong somewhere.
I've even tried resting a couple of days.

well, if it is not that important to you then forget about it. You could always try the attacking him rutine, or leading enemies in his general direction. Truthfully, I think you should just give up on it, because the new one is coming out in nov. There are a lot of steps you can try. The resting thing works sometimes, like if you are right next to them. Try to lead him.

Well, I really don't want to give up. What I'm needing to do is get the Telvanni to declare that I'm Hortator. Maybe this area isn't needed to do that, but, I was of the impression that it is.

try to go around it, if that fails, then go back to the moron who is stuck. Sometimes they just fix themselves. I just hope it didn't screw the game over for you.

Well, I just went back to my saved game and he's down in the river now. LOL! I tried pushing his head underwater and he won't die.
I'm going to have to get some shuteye. I worked a late shift today and have been home a couple of hours.

Nah Drizzt wasn't THAT hard (but he was the hardest char to kill in the game, although the rewards he gave were unbelievable for BG1). I remember I had Minc attack him first so that he got all the punishment and I had all the others attack him with spells and arrows of piercing (because he had such a high AC). He did die, I just healed Minc all the time till Minc died anyway (Drizzt's attacks were painful ). But I remember that the guys hitting him with the arrows of piercing all around him made a huge difference. His swords and armor sure made up for all the time it took to take him down
