World Series Of Poker Game
Hey everyone, I was on Gamestop.com looking at the ETA for Madden 2006 And I saw a new World Series Of Poker game coming out soon. Now, I don't know how many poker fans there are here, but would you consider spending $30 to play it virtually? If you click on the link, you can see that it has real ESPN camera angles and graphics. Look at it and tell me what you think.

So you don't think that all of this ESPN presentation and such will cause anyone to buy it? Or the fact that it's on Xbox Live.

No, poker is poker, no matter how you wrap it, its not worth buying in my honest opinion, but then I have friends to play my Texas Hold 'em with :-)

But for people that can't play with other people, do you think that this would be a good substitute?

I personally am looking foward to this. I dont care about the graphics and all that, but what I want is to be able to set up an IP tourny w/ friends. So far all of the poker games out there you dont play online w/ the exception of Poker Live International. I dont think you can create your own online tourny though I am hoping this WSOP game has this. There is also supposed to be another one being released any time now called DD Tournament Poker II. www.ddpoker.com which is supposed to have some kinda online play. The best site where i play at now is www.pokerpages.com . Party poker is really not good at all. At poker pages they have $25 and $30 free rolls every couple hours (free to enter first is like $7-8), plus tournaments where you can win points every hour. Once you get 100 points you can exchange those for $1 or use your them to enter some other tournies. They also have Free WSOP warmup events. Round 1 is free to enter and if you get in the top 40 you get points (500 or so is first and it goes down to 7 or so for 40th) plus you win an entry into a round 2 event on the weekends. IN round 2 placing in the top 40 will get you like 25-50 points and if you get in the top 4 you go on to round 3 which is big bucks. If you win the rnd 3 event you win a $10,000 seat the the 2006 WSOP or $5000 cash.

check out www.pokerfreerollsonline.com
I have tried out pokerhost, poker.com, pokerroom.com, and absolute poker. All are ok, pokerhost and pokerrrom have some pretty big money free events. The absolute poker software isnt the greatest but its not bad. I am getting ready to play one in about 1 hour at pokerhost. 800 max people first is $90 and they pay to 35th which is $5 and its totally free to enter.

Get real.......Thats like saying you shouldnt play war games you should go join the military instead. Also if you notice pro sports players always play sports video games so your statement is kinda ridiculous. Just because you enjoy playing sports games does not mean you dont/cant enjoy playing real sports.
