Dungeon Siege II single-player demo
Microsoft has released the promised playable demo for Dungeon Siege II, offering the first opportunity to try out the imminent 3D role-playing sequel by Gas Powered Games. This monstrous download is a single-player demo that contains two lengthy introductory cutscenes along with a portion from the beginning of the Mercenary campaign, from the tutorial section up to the Elven Shrine area.

I loved the first game, but when playing MP, there wasn't a way to save the state of the world like in Diablo II. I'd live to be able to play co-op MP through the storyline and not have to basically restart every time.
I've heard they've addressed that this time, so I hope it's true.

That photo sensitive seizure warning has been around a long time. I remember reading it in the manuals of sega genesis games. Normally is doesnt come up on the screen, but it is hidden in the manual somewhere.
I won the first game in a contest though the MSN gaming zone, but never really got into it. I played through it pretty far, but it started to get kinda ridiculous. Take 3 steps kill 50 things take 3 more steps kill 50 more things over and over and over again.

Hmm.. I had big hopes for this game when it was announced so many moons ago. Now that GW is out, I wonder how it defines itself now. We'll have to see
Original DS was ok. It was a lot more looks over substance.

After installing, used space was 1.43 GB. 'Course it created a temp dir when it unpacked, and that was 1.4 GB, so you really need about 5.2 GB to install the thing, when you include the original packed file plus the real game

I am personally disappointed by DS2. What the hell were Gas Powered Games up to since DS. A little bit more inspiration is needed for sure. Don't get me started how how graphically sub-par it is.

really? i thought graphics would be considerably better, given that ds was pretty good for its time.
also thought they would have capitalised of their experience with ds. did you like ds?

Let me put it this way. Take CS 1.6 and CS:S one succeeds the other, but the core of it is the same. Graphically they even look similar. That is how DS2 feels. It feels like DS with a newer engine, but does not stray far enough to define solid differences between the two games.
DS was supposed to be a Diablo-killer, it failed in that respect, but it was still a solid game for its time. I played it a year and a half ago with my brother and we completed the single player campaign. It was an ok game with a much weaker storyline compared to D2, but it kept things simple and fun.
If you absolutely loved the way everything was in DS, you will feel right at home with DS2. If you played recent games like Guild Wars, DS2 feels like a step down in every category except for audio usage.

Do you have a GameSpy ID? If so, you can use it as well. You can also go Torrent.
