No need to apologise.
Now played through the first level, after a re-install of windows and all updates applied...The is huge increase in graphic quality after applying this patch... highly recommended this is installed and run through the game one more time if you're bored.

Yea, too bad they didn't fix anything in SvM, or Co-op for that matter.

Getting it now. I've already played through twice. Now I have a good reason for a 3rd time. Also, I've upgraded my vidcard from 9600 Pro to X800 XL since last time I played. TWO good reasons to play again.

UPDATE:
Well, I started up the game after applying this patch and resetting my game to utlilize the Shader 2.0 functions.
In almost every environment, the game looks so incredible!! I'm at 1600x1200, and the game occasionally dips below 30 FPS. I've seen it down to 23 FPS for a short time.
BUT, in the Lighthouse level, there are several areas where you can stand and overlook the ocean. IT'S UGLY!!! Totally reprehensibly ugly!!! Only if you look toward the horizon does it resemble water.
Anyone else notice this?

This is fucking bullshit. Those ubisoft dickheads release a SM2 patch months after the fucking game was released, kind of late don't you think. I still think the only SC ever worth playing was the first one, these new ones have lost the vibe.

Slinter cell is still awesome TBH i would love to see the Splinter cell engine used with a resident evil type game using stealth and all out action
the original RE1 mansion would be stunning for it

I agree that the game is tops! I've enjoyed playing through it and enjoy it even now. I was just hoping there'd be a big improvement in how the water looks. Since there are only a few places where water is involved, it's sort of a minor annoyance. But, it could have been so much better.

Well, the co-op is broken for 99.5% of all players, so I wouldn't count on it.
If you play SvM, though, my name is NS-Cheese Thief, if you can find me.

If you want AA while having SM2.0, you need to disable HDR in the Shader Options menu.

Q: I can't change antialiasing because it's grayed out and says "Disabled".
A: If you have HDR rendering enabled from "Shader Options" antialiasing will be
always disabled. This is a hardware limitation of current graphics cards and
there is nothing we can do to enable it.
Quoted from the SC:CT readme, HDR is much better than AA anyway in my opinion, and of course you can try enabling AA in the ATi CP.

They are different technologies, HDR is a very very nice looking lighting method, you know what AA is, problem is they dont work well together, its up to you though, I prefer a SC:CT to be well lit rather than jaggy free, but thats just me.
