Doom III release date is 2003, amazon cock up?

ATHOUGH DOOM III is already on sale at Amazon, both the developer id software and distributor Activision are remaining tight lipped about the launch date of this highly anticipated incarnation of the famous gorey shoot 'em up.
Amazon says the game will surface on November 29th and is offering copies of the game for £29.99.

Yet all mention of a release date has been purged from both id and Activision's websites. Still, an indication of how long you may have to wait before sating your bloodlust is suggested by posters currently being pasted up around LA in the run up to to the games expo, E3, where the game will be publicly demoed for the first time.

who is right? and more importantly do you care ? !

Yeah... i think i would be interested in Doom III.
The reasons are pretty simple... i'm not expecting the game to be great or anything... I am however expecting there to be a lot of work onthe game engine... That opens the door for a lot of quality mods.... those i am interested in .
