I don't own one, but resident evil 4 should be one of your first choices. Eternal darkness, both metroid primes are good starters as well.

I have a cube, n64 and an xbox here at the apartment, and must say I prefer the gamecube to the others. games like Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime, 007 Rogue Agent, Zelda, Mario Kart(I play a little of everything) should keep anyone happy

the games are alright. When it comes to consoles, I have the best time on my xbox and n64 .

I don't like the way the re-designed the controller tho. I don't like how it has two triggers on the right, and one on the left. I grew up on just single left and right trigger buttons so more than 1 trigger on each side and i don't like the controller (A.K.A. psX/2 and GameCube controllers).

Sorry, but I don't like the controller either.

Other than that, it would be a great buy indeed. Got a friend who's got one and it's great fun!

Yeah, lol, I know what you mean.

My lil sister was virtually obsessed with solitare too, but I soon found the only game that would get her into gaming was GTA3, and now, well, let's just say the rest was history - she won't let her new gaming PC (my old rig ) go to rest for more than a few hours!

But the game cube could be the answer, it is very attractive to the femmenine kind and many of it's games appeal to them too. Worth a shot.

Only if you buy the cube for "kiddy" ganes..... the cube as nearly as much "adult" games as another other system.... it just so happens to have equally as much kiddy games as well..

ive had my GC pretty much since metroid prime came out, and so far i like it.
my game collection for it is tiny compared to my ps2, but its got some really fun games on it. mainly metroid prime 1+2, resident evil the remake and resident evil 4, which is amazingly fun.
cant forget the wavebird controller. best. controller. ever.

Pick up timesplitters 2 for gamecube, that's a fun shooter. Also 007 Everything or Nothing has an awesome shooting system even though it's in 3rd person. That game is great except the multiplayer vs. sucks balls (it's some overhead arcade shit, not the standard fps shoot your friends deal).

As for RE4, I'm not a fan. The controls are horrendous and the person you play takes up way too much screen real estate. My roommate feels the same way. Be wary of hype.
