Is there a program I can find that does a good benchmark of HL2.

You can use the Source stress test in Counter-Strike Source.

Raff_3DC is on a distinguished road
The best way to get comparable results is to bench some timedemos.

FRAPS is nice--but not essential for benching HLČ.
