Anyone have any good NFSU2 strategy sites?

I just picked up this game on monday cause my internet was out and I needed something fun to play for a few days. I like the tuning aspects, but some things dont seem right to me. The first car i got was a miata its up to about a level 7 visual rating. Then I had about 60grand in the bank and finally decided to build up a new car so i got a 3000GT. At stock the GT had about 3x the acceleration and 3x the top speed as the stock miata, but after dropping almost $50000 into the 3000gt its acceleration and speed seem slighty lower than the miata. What I dont understand is the top speed is the same as my miata on the dyno, and the 0-60 and 0-100 are slower than my miata, but yet in the drag race i tried the GT won fairly easy and I couldnt win the race w/ my miata.
I dont really understand how the tuning works w/ the ECU and Turbo either. I would think that if you set your max power to a lower RPM you would get quicker acceleration and a lower top speed, but for some reason it seems to be the opposite the top speed does drop, but 0-60 and 0-100 are also slower. If i set max power to the higher RPMs top speed goes up 0-60 and 0-100 are quicker. Maybe it depends on the car too im not sure all I know is that trying to figure out the tuning is making my head spin. I wondered if anyone had any good tuning sites or good car guides for the game.
