Is One PC Multiplayer Possible?

Hello you great bunch of DH folk!

I was wondering. Are there PC games (besides sports games) in which 2 or more players can play multiplayer or CoOp on 1 PC using 2 or more controllers and/or Keyboard?

I'm especially interested in FPS. If you can name some for me, any help will be greatly appreciated. Is this possible with Unreal Tournament GOTY Edition?

Thinking back aways:

Atomic Bomberman
Axis and Allies (Not the RTS but the board game based pc game)
Most board game based PC games

That's all I can think of off hand for playing on ONE PC.

Emulators with games which support more than one player.

Also i've introduced numerous fixes and animation to increase the the orginal FPS of the game from 20 to 85 FPS to produce the best results. Updated the "textures" if you want to call them that. and not to mention the diesease, frankly i love having the glove and 15 bombs and picking the "POOPS". Entertaining considering by default with one keyboard, you can play 2 player. Ad a few controlers and you've got a party game. 10 players tops.

ATM, As far as i know, ALL of the NHL/NBA/NFL/ etc. EA made sports games have multiple player support as long as you have enough controllers. Hopefully you have enough USB ports if you want to play 12 player games

Although i'm very disapointed with EA's dropping of 2 player mode in the last 4 NFS games, NFS 2 through 4 have pretty great 2 player split screen support.

I also found out that Both Serious Sam games have split screen support, i beleive up to 4 players, if you've a controller with dual analog support, your set. They are also COOP games as well (which i would like to seem more often as i thoroughly enjoy COOP)

if i think of anymore, i'll post them.

Master Of Orion II(Turn-Based Strategy) has a "Hot-Seat" Multiplayer...you just switch between players every turn. It's rather lame because you can see what the other player is doing that turn.

Playing a non-networkable game is about as fun as playing 4-player Spilt-Screen.

Serious sam se split screen was pretty good, although for me the controls started to get a little sluggish, but it was probably just my comp.

on a side note to this idea… those jet dual user motherboards… one computer, HT processor, dual head video card (or a dual video solution), dual interface… might make a nice low/mid range 2 player gaming unit…

Hey Judas:

I cant see how I can use more than 1 controller or get the split screen deal going. Can you please expound on how to do this?

Thanks In advance.

I have no problem with using 2 players in an Emulator. I'm stuck on doing it in Serious Sam SE.

Edit:

Well, I cant see how to assign different controllers to each play in split screen mode, please help?

it's been so long. erg, when i did it i set the first player with mouse and keyboard and the other with controller.. i know i got it running with both controllers... but it was rather difficult to setup. I only did this in the demo version. I haven't the retail...

Serious Sam's website might have more insite on the matter as i'm rather out of ideas and currently don't have the demo installed nor do i have any controllers installed....

if i remember anything i'll be sure to post back though

Judas:

OK, thx, and I meant to say that I cant get different controllers assigned to the players.

I'll check the Serious Sam SE site, and if you and anyone else remembers how to set up controllers for split screen play, please post how?

REMOVED

Emulator discussion is fine...links to ROMs and such are not

so, for those who want to know, the emulator in question is called 'Project 64', you can find it yourselves

I used Project64, but I dont recall Perfectdark working good on it. But, Super Mario 64, The Legend Of Zelda Majoras Mask, and Konker's Bad Fur Day play excellently with this Emulator.

I used Nemu64 for perfect dark. It isnt perfect though...it doesnt seem to like my Radeon card. When I use a different graphics card or use software rendering its LOADS better.

Man I'm flabbergasted! Project64 wont work at all for me now. Twas months ago when I used it, but maybe it was Nemu64. Maybe not though cause the game has some issues. Back when I played, those games were nearly perfect. I loved Koner's Bad Fur Day: banging those cavemen on the head with the skillet to get my money back was so funny! Anyway, was fun when I played. I'm using Nemu64 now, and Super Mario 64 works good, but some grahic flaws and audio stutters.

I still cant get controllers assigned in Serious Sam Split screen. But, I'll figure it out, and/or try some other games mentioned here.

Thx all for the posts.
