Nintendo DS
*For pics check the next posts* What's up guys… I just got my Nintendo DS 2 days ago but i got to open it today =/.. any way here is a little review I guess…. The stuff that came with the DS were the Nintendo DS, recharger, 2 styluses, a thumb cap (like a stylus but more for gaming), Metroid Prime Hunters Demo, and Pitco Chat (built in the DS) The Nintendo DS is freaking amazing there's so much you can do, from touch screen, to chatting to others 100 ft away, to playing others on 1 cartridge and more…. Here are some main features of the DS: Touch screen Stereo speakers Wireless connection (not internet) 2 screens (of course :P) The ability to play Game Boy Advance games (sorry no gameboy color or gameboy games )A mic port Rechargeable battery And some other nifty things… Review ok time to start talking about the DS On the first startup the DS will ask u to touch the screen, and than enter ur nickname, birthday, favorite color (for the DS theme), date, and time. After you configure the settings the DS will ask you to restart. After the restart you can start using the DS… The first thing I did is load up Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt. The touch screen is a amazing feature in the DS, it opens so much things that you can do, and will be able to do in the future with games/applications on the DS. The cool thing is that you can use the touch screen as a sort of mouse to control your games movement (its great specially in First Person Shooters). There is a thumb strap included with the DS which is sort of like the stylus but for gaming. You attach it to your thumb and like sort of tie it in the back of the DS (there is a special place for it) and you use the touch screen (bottom one) to move around.. its really helpful and it also helps you protect your screen from those greasy fingers The wireless connection is pretty cool, you can connect to people about 100 feet away and chat with them, play games against them and one feature that I LOVE is the feature that allows players to play online with only 1 game loaded in 1 DS ( so you dont have to buy the game to play it against someone over the wireless connection just download it from the person ). Stereo sound is also a great improvement from the mono speakers we had in the GBA.. games sound realistic and the sound is great even at the loudest sound the DS didn’t do any cracking sounds.. Also it has a "Fake" surround sound which is great cuz it sounds like surround sound but its really not lol J. I haven’t really played with the DS for that long to see how long the battery lasts but from what I have heard it lasts for about 6-8 hours gaming or even more.. when I got the DS I had to charge it up for about 2 n a half hours. The DS is a bit goofy to hold because it doesn't really feel rite when u hold it but u stop noticing it after a bit. Another thing is that I wish they would have a bigger selections of games…The DS can also play GBA games which is great because developers are already using features to like if u have a certain gba game inserted and ur playing a ds game u can unlock stuff The GBA games also look alot better on the DS because of the backlit LCD screen and now colors are brighter and looks better! Also theres a option to turn the screen lights on or off.If your thinking of getting the DS and you can find one in a store near you GET IT because I went to 5 shops and called 8 shops too see if they have any DS's and they were all sold out and all of the next shipments were reserved But I went to Target thinking they will be sold out too but to my amazement they had 4 shiny DS boxes sitting in the corner so I was like WOOOT lol they said that they got a shipment of 4 one hour before I got in the shop so I was lucky .Mini Reviews (Games) The Metroid game was pretty cool, the graphics were pretty polished, the controls were a bit weird in the beginning but it took about 2 minutes to get used to them and than it was cool… there are some glitches like wall clipping and others, but remember the game is only a demo and it doesn’t reflect the full product. Some things I would have liked to see in the demo are sensitivity options and some other control configs but all of the rest was great! I have also purchased Super Mario 64 DS (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the memories ) so far as much as I played the game looks better than the 64 version, its really fun specialy with the new characters u can play as (Wario, Luigi and Yoshi) and there are a lot of mini games that use both screens and the touch screen which is really cool. The controls are a bit weird but you get used to them after a short time. So far this game is cool I don’t have any bad thing to say about it!In conclusion the Nintendo DS is a really great handled system, it has a bunch of awesome features, has some nice games (but not enough so far), and it is just cool :P PROS -Awesome features like touch screen, wireless connection, Microphone, and Stereo sound -Has a lot of potential. -Fun to mess around with -Has some fun games -Rechargeable battery -You can play GBA games -Double screen Cons -A bit weird to hold -Controlles are a bit anoying at first -Not a lot of lauch games Overall the system is BADASS. Leave comments/questions if u want n tell me what u think

yes Dom...it's essentially an updated touch screen N64.
My roommate has one...and it seems very cool, even if he doesn't share

I'll kill that roommate for some cash... not a big challenge though cause he is such an emaciated nerd.
