NFSU2 Blocky Road Textures
I was wondering if anybody have this problem or know how to solve it.
I have been getting blocky road textures and it looks ugly as hell.
Btw i am using Cat 4.12 on a Hercules Radeon 9600 256.
Sys Specs are P4 2.66, 768 Mb DDR.
Help is appreciated.
Tanx in advance.

Have a screenshot? Mine seems rather ugly as well but I think it was meant to be like that.

Ill post a screen when i get home.
But you see in the demo i didn't have this problem and i heard on EmuForums some people are getting the same problem while others are not, and some say that restarting the game fixed that. Unfortunately that didn't fixed the problem here.

I've noticed it as well. The first time I ran the game many places in the roads had a very pronounced checker board effect (ugly). The second time I launched it the roads looked just fine and since then the checker board textures have been hit and miss. No idea what it could be...

Actually....to fix this:
- in ATI CP (or CCC) set the AA/AF to application preference and the A.I. to standard.
- if you need AA/AF, you can set this through the in-game options.
This seems to fix the problem for me (I'm also using the cats 4.12 beta). Not to mention that this way the game is much smoother. I guess it's true that the game knows best about its AA/AF.

I had the problem with A.I standard. Only happens on some tracks, not all.
I had discussed this in another thread too, funny nobody said there that they had the same problem. Glad to see I'm not the only one though.

I see, and do you have a backup generator for your town - for when you benchmark your pc?
