Rate Half-Life 2
Overall, how would you rate Half-Life 2? On a scale of 1-10, 1 being one of the worst games ever made and 10 being one of the best games ever created.

I have played it for hours and must say... It's anything but a Doom 3 and more of a Far Cry... Differnet gameplay types, different stuff (from puzzles too I don't know what ) and all... A real legend!!! Only bad thing IMHO (steam as a base)

Well I'd have to say that my eyes are very red, my head is making a buzzing sound and my skin is glowing in the dark!!
I'd give this game a 9, Steam has been annoying for some as already mentioned.

yeah I'd have to agree. Its pretty fun. I rated it an 8 mostly because the graphics arent so eye-popping. If you get close to objects the textures are pretty aweful. And yes, I have all graphics to max with fairly good AA and AF.
I love this game though. The one thing about it is that for me its basically Psychotoxic with a better story(yes I know that psychotoxic is the same engine). Honestly the gameplay is almost identical.

i thought graphics are the best i ve ever seen. also i enjoyed the litle things like when throughing a paint can with a gravity gun it splatters all over. I laughed my head off when the white zombie dude statred chasing after me. The puzzzles are somewhat unique, as they mostly have to do with the physics engine. hm i give it an 8, because it gets repeptitive sometimes.

A 1, and if there would be a zero I used that..
MUST HAVE AN INTERNET CONNECTION, I know several people, who'd barely can afford a computer let alone having an monthly 40 euro internet bill.
Still they would love to buy and play this game, and they can't
once again those who are willing to buy a worth buying game are being punished !!! and drivin in illegality, because they cant do otherwise.
So what's next?? every time is use a program I have to call the maker ?
Or when I want to read a book i've to call the writer?
or when drinking coffee I should call Columbia ??
This is seriously getting out of hand,
Valve, I'm sure it is a wonderfull game as was HL1 *sold 8 million copys doesn't ring a bell??*.
But for me it stops here, wich goes for any developer who'd follow Your "annoy the customer" example.

I agree with the above statement about the internet requirment, that is just plain idiotic!!
Otherwise disregarding the internet deal, i gave it a full 9....i've played it for a couple of hours last night, and the only thing that holding the 10 away for me is that....i don't know how to say this, but the story doesn't feel as solid as with the original halflife.
But hey, no one is perfect .... I really love this game so far, it's easy on par with Farcry IMO...

it is easily said a 10. I dont remember the last time i had this much fun playing a game. i can't believe i can even play. My mobility radeon 9000 plugs this game at 60fps with all the details on high with the DX8.1 path. i can't belive it. I was expecting like 20fps at best.

9/10..........only downfall is the activation via steam, could there be any problems with hl2 if in the future i sold on not being able to re-ativate if all the system/ip/username does not match.

played from midnight to 4am last night. giving the game itself a 9, but if possible the whole steam thing a 1 (no zero available). so averaged out it's like a 5 or 6.

I gave it 8/10 because:
- no mp modes(yes I know there is CS:S, I'm talking just even DM period would be nice, lots of people DID enjoy playing HL1 DM...)
- graphics are good, not elite. Going up to walls looks like we are back to Duke3d. But graphics overall are good. The bullet marks for a crowbar hitting something kinda bad.
I feel sorry for people without internet etc, but Steam to me is a good thing and maybe that will come to you as you continue to use it. I love the updates etc. Get up in morning turn on steam, come back later and update done with ZERO effort. I like how I can launch all my games from one common place and as well submit bugs and feature requests etc all directly thru game or steam. At the same time there is also VAC etc coming that will also keep the playing field clean from cheaters. But anyhow.. I love HL2 its the most immersive game I have played since...umm, I don't know when..it's keeping me entertained at least and now I need to get a team together to work on a mod.

I gave it a 10 since it simply is the best game ever created in the history of PC, Console, or Arcade gaming. No game has ever drawn me in as much as this one has. Yesterday morning when I came to ATI and activated it, there was a big circle of people that sit around me staring at my monitor. Everyone here was drooling. I can safely say this will be by far the most played game of all time by us ATI employees.
Good work Valve. Now I better get back to more "testing"

Nope. My second favorite game of the year is FarCry and thats an NVIDIA marketed game. So I dont really care which company sponsors what game. Im just a hardcore gamer at heart and can praise a good game when I see it.
