Counter-strike LAN gaming. help please

Heyyyy so I'm having another LAN party sometime for my closest friends...and theres sortof been some arguement about what games we should play. Last time it was UT2k4 and Halo, but several people wanted to play Counterstrike. Well I finally caved and said that I would arange something...

heres the kicker. I have no idea how to set it up. Not everyone owns CS. Normally we'd just make some "Spawn copies" for the friends comps(we delete them right after. We believe in keeping the economy strong) but this uses Steam. I dont wanna lose my Steam account for this, so does anyone have any idea how we set up CS for LAN without everyone owning it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It would be especially good if we could get around using steam altogeather. We dont wanna go online...just have it be a local LAN.

No, if you have hl1 you can download the mod edition of CS and just not patch it to the new version, which should allow you to play without steam since you are just going to be LANing

You can download CS 1.5 off of Fileplanet.com still... they've had it forever
