Pissed Crappy ground textures after FarCry 1.2 patch ?

Hi all.. I was just wondering if anyone else noticed a DECREASE of the ground textures after the latest FarCry patch.?? Most noticably the sandy beach textures. I remember them being real detailed before and now the ground looks like its 16 bit?..especialy when your laying down. there doesnt seem to be any mip mapping on the ground textures anymore ????

i think this 1.2 patch has not been very positive from an end users standpoint, I couldn't care less if Nvidia even owned Crytek but damm, let us enjoy the product at the same level as those that own nvidia stock

I agree...but i have been lucky with 1.2 stabililty wise..no bugs so far and my save games were fine after install but i am a lil pi$$ed with what they have done with the IQ..I mean come on.. this game is all about eye candy..and for the devs to strip some of the visuals so people with P90's and radeon 7000's can play this game is very poor judgment.

I have a modest system and with a few tweaks to windows and proper knowledge about HW setup i can run this game with all settings on very high and a res of 1280x1024..it seems to me that some people have poorly running systems and instead of realising this they just blame the game. If you OC your system to the tits and FarCry crashes dont blame bad codeing..Imagine how hard it is to develop a game when new HW springs up every 3-6 months and they have to go back to the drawing board..

I see all kinds of posts where someone says they have a bug with a certain Grphx card and someone else with the same card syas they have none..everyone's system is different. From OS's to HW to User knowledg and Crytek cant very well take all the possible combinations into account..

Bugs are part of PC gameing.. but at least we can DL mods and patches..where as console games are what they are when you buy em..Besides i smell a Hotfix coming as soon as Crytek get some feedback on this latest patch.!!..

It has been cancelled

Ubisoft just sent out an announcement regarding the v1.2 Far Cry patch released earlier this week. "Far Cry patch 1.2 has shown unexpected behaviour on specific hardware configurations. These matters are mainly due to incompatibilities with several optimisations brought lately to the code, with the intent to please a large number of users.

I had much the same problem and had to unistall the game! Reinstalled it and patched it with version 1.1 to get the game back. With the 1.2 patch the game exhibited bright blue flashes and shadows could be seen through walls as yellow images Something went horribly wrong I guess but it all started with the install of the 1.2 patch. I still can't use a shadow setting of anything higher than "Medium" tho.
