DOOM III Minimum System Requirements
We now have the official minimum system requirements for DOOM III: 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500, 384 megabytes of memory, two gigabytes of hard drive space, an nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better. If you're still keeping a GeForce 2MX/4MX and an older Pentium III in your PC, now's the time for an upgrade and here are a few tips. The ideal rig would include a 3GHz Intel Pentium 4 or a 3000+ AMD Barton, 1GB of RAM, a 6800 or X800 GPU based video card, the latest sound card from Creative (Audigy 2 ZS), a Western Digital Raptor (or 2 in a RAID setup), a DVD drive and the best peripherals money can buy (keyboard/mouse). A nice 19" monitor supporting a decent resolution at a higher refresh rate is a must also. I know that paying for all these could kill your summer holiday plans, but we're talking DOOM III here, right?

I suppose if I overclock my Athlon 2800 a bit, and pump the Radeon 9600 NP up a touch I should be able to play with a few options on and keep a decent frame rate.

Look for a pro with Vivo. Gigabyte especially. An easy Bios flash turns them into XT's.

2.4ghz p4
r9600pro
512 pc-133 sdram (temporary dont worry)
audigy gamer
Ill just BARELY be able to play the game on probably the lowest details...they say thats the minimum but really you're gonna more never once have i seen minimum requirments that were actually accurate. I think they do it partly to sell more copies...make people think they're pc's can run the game when they'd have to disable textures and models LOL

Now all we need is the GAME Just added up all the money I've spent in the last six months in anticipation of this game and was shocked at the total Close too $1500 and thats with some older stuff from my old rig. This better be worth it. bwhahahahahaha

i think i would be able to run the game well enough. maybe not with all the eye candy turned up though... anyways, i really don't have any money to do anymore upgrades, so i'll have to settle with what i have until next year. I guess i can always oc my 9800 pro to it's max to get a few more frames from the game...
Specs in sig below....
