Razor Viper
Razor Viper doesn't compare to my contruction paper on my desk!
It really doesn't.. totally unrelated
I find using a plain old desk is fine..as long as it doesn't reflect. I'm using a piece of construction paper taped to a desk

It depends what you use it for, the Viper is better for high sensitity use, and the MX510 is better for low sensitivity use, and has more buttons. And my Razer Boomer Speed is better for everything, as long as you don't mind the ball.
I'm going to order one of those mousepads as soon I either find someone to buy my fUnc, or get tired of waiting.

The one time I tried an MX900, it had noticeable lag compared to an MX700, which is nearly identical to a corded mouse in responsiveness...

Well, let me elaborate.
I've got both mice, and in my experience, at high sensitivity (pointer speed, ie: little hand movement, large pointer movement), the two mice are equally responsive, however, the Viper is capable of running a tad more sensitive than the MX510 (1000 cpi vs. 800 cpi) without any pixel skipping. (changing the sens from the windows mouse setting doesn't change the cpi, so middle setting=1 pixel per mouse signal and max setting= 2 pixels per mouse signal).
Razer had to use one of the normal Agilent sensors, and a lens which increased the cpi from 800 to 1000. However, this decreased the speed that the mouse can track, so if you move the mouse faster than 15 inches per second (seems like a lot, but it is quite common for players to use twitch movements faster than this), it stops responding properly.
Logitech, on the other hand, uses a modified Agilent sensor that doesn't have its specs available to the public, and has IIRC a max tracking speed of 30 inches per second, almost double that of the Viper, which makes it clearly superior for medium and low sensitivity players. (You should at least agree with that part, Zardon )
My comment about my Razer Boomer Speed was actually exaggerated, although it is my favorite gaming mouse, it's also useless for anything other than high sensitivity players, and I normally wouldn't recommend it to most people in favor of an optical mouse.

ah well... it's not to my personal taste - I gave it a mixed review.... but it was more bad than good... just comes to show... different reviews can always disagree quite substantially

I wouldn't get a ratpadz, I've heard a lot of people say they wear out quickly.

for me it was between the ratpadz and the func surface. i got the func, and im very glad i did. i didnt like the idea of polishing my mouse pad. it is a tad more expensive and a bit smaller as well...but it's still plenty large (i use it for gaming, so it's good)

the func is pretty big...comes with plenty of acccesories as well. two surfaces, cord holder (so you dont have to pull the mouse cord over the edge of your desk...it keeps the mousing moving well, without interfearance), and a storage case.
another reason i didnt get the ratpadz was because i looked at it's design..and i realized the bottom was curved, and that is more than likely where the "extra" size comes from.

You must have been running the mouse in 400dpi mode instead of 800dpi
as i find i have no lag at all
or your mouse could have been faulty
or you could have been useing those cheap battiries that are supplyed with the mouse
get some MAH2300 battries in that mouse
i dont have a problem and its definatly not a laging mouse no way.
did you update the drivers for bluetooth ? or mouse drivers ?
WCOMM drivers are a little hard to install did you use those drivers on the CDROM or the ones preinstalled on SP1 ??
there are a lot of factors that could have made you lag but im not lagging one bit

Nope, it was definitely in 800 dpi mode.
I don't know what kind of batteries it had, just that it was fully charged.
I didn't download any updated drivers, I just used the ones off of the cd.
I might try it again sometime with updated drivers, I was surprised that it wasn't as good as the MX700.
