Games Needing Proper Sequels/Remakes!

This thread is intended to bring back memories of great titles which have hit the gaming scene in the past and deserve another crack at it. For examples Prince of Persia! A classic sidescroller way back when, but a successful and worthy sequel/remake was done. So please share some of your visions of remakes and/or sequels. Hopefully, somebody will give info to upcoming games which are going to be a sequel or remake of a classic

Here are some of mine:

PC Games

Flashback

This slow paced 2-D sidescroller was one of the first PC games I've ever played. The graphics were crude, but I enjoyed the "puzzle" aspect of it. I think a great third person remake of this game could be made from this classic

Descent Sequel

A actual KICK ASS Descent game should be made. I remember spending months playing the original Descent on my Pentium 120~ While Descent 3 looked great, I didn't dive into it.

RTCW2

I adored the original game. It was the game which got me into FPS games again and the game which got me into playing multiplayer FPS games. A sequel made under the Doom 3 engine will just be awesome!

Mafia 2

I enjoyed the original Mafia very much. It was extremely well made and the story was excellent! A sequel to this game is a must!

Shogo MAD 2

I just recalled one of the great FPS. Shogo had a mix of first person mech piloting and traditional FPS. It would be nice to see this game in a modern day engine

Console/Arcade

Chrono Cross Sequel

Well Chrono Break is rumoured to be a sequel to CC, but no info about it has come from Square Enix yet. A sequel to one the greatest RPGs of all time would be really nice.

Final Fantasy Tactics 2

FFTA was supposed to be a sequel to FFT, but it didn't have the same feel to it. A proper sequel on the PS2 with some really nice graphics and more depth in story would be a more suitable sequel to this FF classic.

Capcom vs SNK 3

CvsSNK was a good title and when CvsSNK2 came around it was even better! I'm still playing CvsSNK2~! The new graphics and different gameplay was what made me love it. Capcom needs to do a complete overhaul of all their character sprites. They need to make another Street Fighter Alpha 2! Alpha 2 had everything: great music, great stages and great new sprites! Capcom has to get rid of that Morrigan~! GGX is a game with excellent graphics, but that's all I see in it. If only Capcom could make their games look that good. Maybe, that would give them some more sales~.. Because I don't see the point of playing with the exact same character I played with in a 1997 game. today.

you do know that chrono cross was the "sequel" to chrono trigger for SNES right?

I honestly didnt think it was that good...the story was too random, and the ending was hurried and cheesy...but thats just my opinion. Xenogears...now that is the epitomy of single player RPGs.

(btw one thing that infuriates me is the fact that gamespot gave chrono cross a 10/10, and xenogears much lower...i understand opinions..but i believe that under no circumstances should a game be given either a 0 or a perfect score...there are no such cases where a game deserves either.)

I said a sequel to Chrono Cross~ Not a sequel to Chrono Trigger. Soul Calibur got a perfect score and it was damn good! I do believe Chrono Cross deserved at most a 9.8. It was good~

Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were alright, but I do agree that a better Sonic game needs to come out.

yea, soul calibur was good...but im just saying i dont think any game is perfect...which is what a "10" is saying. I would have given CC a 9.0 i think...because it had beautiful gfx and sound for psx, and the story was good for the most part.

but i agree, they should remake the first Metal gear games...because nobody wants to play those in their crappy 2D NES forms...but we still want the story!

i'd love to play Tetris Attack on my Gamecube with more advancements they could make... like a computer that i might not be able to beat ..... i mean... that's seriously the only game that i know of that 5 minutes... and i'm moving at such high speeds that i'm bringing in (x10, x11,x12,x?,x?,x?!!!!! ) as soon as you get a combo so huge... the game itself starts getting confused....
