Driverheaven: Farcry review
Steve "Chaos" Ruxton has put together a review of the incredible Farcry for our membership.
"The huge levels, great image quality and amazing artificial intelligence make this a candidate for Game of the Year in my honest opinion. Remember we never even touched on the multi-player side of this game so that will add even more to the reply quality of this game."
I couldnt agree more

Actually, the MP play is the worst feature of this game. I was on the USA east coast server with a ping of 31 and no one else there and I was still warping. MP has alot of problems and offers nothing special, imho. It was bad when in beta and only mediocre game play when it works. It hasn't changed much in the final version.I have played through the SP game 4 times though. Hopefully their will be some SP modes/maps to keep up the interest in the game.

That is one reason why I didn't include information about the multi-player action. I have not heard many positive responses when asking others about it, however I did not want to take any attention away from just how enjoyable the Campaign or Single Player mode was.

-->"Thanks to a recent discovery of an undocumented feature contained within ATI's Catalyst drivers, end users can now enable a more efficient method of Anti Aliasing called Temporal AA. Without going into detail on this topic all I will say is that I am now able to run this monster game with the ingame display settings turned to high, the level of Anti-Aliasing set to medium and yet maintain a very exceptable frame rate @ 1024x768."
What does it mean ??? I'm really interested in knowing the trick
PLZ TELL ME HOW I CAN ALSO ENJOY SUCH SETTINGS

Singleplayer really rocks!
I've played multi-player and I did have decent servers to play on (I live in The Netherlands, Europe). The FFA (free for all aka deathmatch) and TDM are kinda bland, but I would really recommend the assault mode. It's great to play, especially as an engenier!

In my opinion, this game is one of the top games to come out since Max Payne 1.
I've had it about a week and have installed the Patch 1.1. Patch 1.2 is coming soon!
There are so many various types of environments throughout the game that makes it so many different things.
The SP simply ROCKS!!! Kudos to Crytek for an incredible adventure. (And I only paid $29.99 for it, too. )

Just got the game yesterday and im lovin every minute of it, simply GORGEOUS!!! And it runs like a dream on my system with everything set very high!! Now about the review, like Zardon said, its a personal view of Chaos, so it counts what it counts, still, thumps up for a job well done.

lol
you could've mentioned that it was developed in Germany! ;D
ah well but I just had a closer look at the team.. not a pure German team lol! ^^
They got teammembers from Australia, Estland, Spain, England, Italy, Ukraine, Finland, Germany, Holland, the USA, Russia, Macedonia, Israel and Turkey.

This game gives me trouble when I set the lighting to anything above "Low". Without lighting, it runs like butter, no slowdowns, hiccups, or crashes. I can turn pretty much everything to the max EXCEPT lighting. I guess it is because of the bump mapping...
I have a Geforce FX 5600 Ultra 128 MB, a 2.6 Ghz Pentium, 1024 MB DDR RAM, and an onboard sound card (meh )
I had so much fun playing through the campaign though, even without the decent lighting, only my progress was halted when I encountered that nasty bug at the very end of the Cooler level where Val justs sits there, and I'm pretty much stuck. Can't wait 'til I can finish it so I can play it on a harder difficulty than medium.
In summary then, any tips on how to smooth out the game with lighting turned on (tweaks and whatnot)? And more importantly, how the hell can I get around the Cooler bug?
And great review! On par with mainstream review outlets.

If I recall correcly, the lighting uses Shader 2.0, which the 5600 is poor at. That might be it right there.

Ah damn... if I downgraded to PS 1.0 would that make it smoother? Or just botch the lighting all together?
