How many Playstations does it take to actually get a good one around here?!?!


This is now my sixth.... SIXTH!!! Playstation I have gone through...


I recently sent back my forth playstation because it stopped playing DVD movies.... Now with the Replacment.... (which was brand new)

I had to send it back too! no more than a week after I got it because the thing wouldnt read ANY cd or dvd... NOTHING!


All the playstations I have had have had some sort of problem with the dvd drive... Wouldnt you think that sony would get a freaking clue that these things suck MAJOR @$$!!!!!! After this ones blows out Im turning it in for a Xbox.... I love the PS2... But most of all I love it when ITs WORKING!!!!

I've never owned one..... So I can't really help. Truthfully, considering you go through them as often as dirty underwear, I suggest buying from some store that gives you a 2 year warranty or so (Circuit City, Best Buy). Doing this will save you hundreds of dollars. (unless you've BEEN doing this)

just put a new drive in it? what have you never been isde alot of the dvd plaers and stuff just use custom frounted cd/dvd rom driver.. PS is probuby the the same

send it back and get an xbox - it may be made by microsoft - but it's worth it - only downside is you don't get GT - but you can live without that.... right?

WOW why not just get an xbox controller adapter, nforce sound and a geforce 3 for your PC! PS2 has the best games no doubt and have made most of the greatest series. you'd screw urself by getting rid of your ps2.

wait wait wait...i have an idea....buy a COMPUTER! lol...i'm yet to find a console that has any games for it i can't run on the PC worth shelling out the extra 200+ dollars for...nintendo is close....no one else is

Ive owned 2 ps2's neither have has a problem, have seen 1 friend w/ a bad drive, and my friend's wont play dvd's... but thats it out of my ummm 2 friends i mean ummm alot more than that

i have never seen a defective playstation AND THE MAJORITY OF MY FRIENDS ARE ASIAN lol. so they have all that stuff modded also. it happens you know, your stuck with a bad radeon sometimes but doesnt mean ATI sucks

ATi are great and thats why you should go with the game cube!
x box is a good second choice.
and if u want to continue having the console with the least power, crapiest, jaggiest and straight out washed out colour (looks 16-bit colour at best) keep your ps2.

i have all 3 consoles and although the ps2 was great in its prime, it is showing its age....and poorly.

You can find just about any nes/snes/sega/gameboy games for the pc. Some are harder to find than others but thats what p2p networks are for... The internet is a beautiful thing!! As for me, i have a xbox (that i usually dont play). I have it mainly to compete with my younger brother in hockey games. And to kill peeps in GTA3/ViceCity.

because EA does not know how to utilize it's strength like other japanese companies and sony themself know how. have you seen gran turismo 4 (which we talked about i think few months ago) and metal gear solid 3? its frighteningly realistic. look at gran turismo 3, its 3 yrs old and it still comparable to games of today. final fantasy X's textures do not always look the smoothest, but loads of detail and the light and spell effects are sometimes of no difference to a CG scene. XBOX doesnt impress me due to its horrible framerates, i played true crime on PS2 and its smoother and on XBOX it crashed!!! the disc was new, my friend's xbox is in perfect condition, it crashed 2 times when there was too much action wtf is that. sony has a LARGE arsenal coming (final fantasy XII, smackdown 6, nfs underground 2, jak 3 and the other 2 i mentioned) and just released that insane looking onimusha. if more developers like capcom, konami and square enix used the PS2 like they do they really would demolish xbox sales. all xbox games are stupid FPS with really toned down gameplay and graphics, and every good one is on PC which is really retarded. so its no use of using the cocksbox.

all of my friends and my ps2 is messed up. it always gets dirty disc error and all the controlers are messed up too. wen ever we play the character moves on its own w/o being commanded to move. i sent my ps2 back and it plays everything now but my controller still messes up from time to time. I heard Sony deliberatly made Playstation malfuntion easily well the first batch at least. I read it in an EGM magazine. A Capcom representative said it. if i remember right

my xbox sucks too. it can't play any game w/o getting dirty disk error. even wen i put a brand new game in it can't even read it. ive never beat halo cuz i keep getting an error.

I have a rev4 ps2; that was the earliest I could pick one up during the shortage period....I have to add that I have not had a single problem.
