But, Will it Play DOOM 3?

Someone over at Rage3D.com posted this earlier this evening...it's a two-parter:

Part 1:

"Ok I just picked up a brand spanking new (to me) computer and I am amazed at it's power. I mean WOW what a difference.

Now if I can crank this babby up and load Dos I will conquer the gopher://

Now since Windows XP can emulate DOS, can DOS emulate Windows XP? I mean can I load Doom3 in dos and play? I've tried with Doom 3 alpha but it won't load....something about ram, 32 bit , can't be ranned from dos or something like that. Do you guys think that Carmack will fix this issue before the game gets released.

Anyhow here are my SPECS!!!!

Gateway 2000
P60
16 mb of RAM!!!!!!!
Trident 2D accelerator (IT"S ISA!!!!! YES!!! WOOOHOO)
45 MB HD
PC SPEAKER!!!

DOS is an MEAN MEAN MEAN operating system...it keeps calling me an Invalid.

Since I've found it then should I waste precious LN2 to cool the sucker, voltmod it and try to OC it?

Dunno will think about that one....it all depends how much work I will have this week."

"Just called gateway: (~ 10 min of waiting)

Tech: Good afternoon my name is Jeff, how can I help you.

Me: Hi, My name is ....... I just bought an Gateway 2000 PC from a friend for $300.00. He said that it will run doom 3 when it comes out, but I just want to make sure that I have all the parts.

Tech: heh...ok sir, can you give me the model number.

Me: ##### type mfg date

Tech: Sir this is an Pentium 60, the computer is quite old, frankly you should have gotten it free. I don't think this pc will even run windows xp and doom 3 is way out of question. The computer if setup via default doesn't even have a 3d graphics card.

Me: Ahhhh, but my friend told me taht it's great, I mean it starts ok, it makes a beeping noise when it starts but then the screen is black with some writting on it C:. Whenever I try to type in Doom 3, the computer calls me an Invalid...I take ofense to that.

Tech:*chuckle*...hold please.......

I hang up."
