DH Community UT2K4 Server
As a way of trying to give back something to the community I've set up a Dedicated UT2k4 server, this is setup exclusively for DH if it starts getting busy I'll password it as well to make this exclusively for DH. 65.25.95.162:7777 Setup with 8 bots Maximum 12 players. Running on a AXP 2100+ 768MB RAM. 3Mb/s connection courtesy of Roadrunner. It usually gets busy after about 12:30AM EST but it's up all the time. Come on in and frag somebody. From Gaborn415 and Judas.
Demo Server Status: OFFLINE
Retail Dedicated Server Status: ONLINE
Update your Bookmarks IP has changed should be static now though.

Great glad it's running well, any suggestions questions post em here or PM me or Judas. I'm probably going to set it up to rotate maps until the full version comes out.

i think upload rate is 256kb/s
may even by 384 or 512.... i was rather impressed with the speed when setting his router up from my computer over the net.... pretty much as if i was hooked up to the router myself

And you can run 16 on that? Tell me the secret... I have a dedicated dsl game server and upload is the name of the game here, my connection 3.0/768 and the most I can host lag free is 16-18 depending on the game.

and you can get 16 players on 512 up? I had to do the same for UT2K3 and UT2K4 is supposed to be even better as far as net code, The demo is only half the game, alot of the final stuff is missing, I'll wait till my game gets here to tweak the client settings.

384, with the setting judas tweaked for me, 16 runs pretty nicely. The thing is Cable is a much better gaming platfor than DSL since the pings tend to be much lower. At least every DSL I've ever had experience with has had a much higher ping than cable.

dsl and cable will ping about the same very big misconception there, my dsl line is not shared like a cable connection is, not everyone in my neighborhood is on the same line as is cable. The main thing that affects latency is the PoP, my cable PoP is in chicago, my DSL PoP is in Los Angeles I can start a server on either one, people in the midewest and east will get better pings on the cable if I set the server up on a cable connection, My full time game server is on the dedicated dsl, no other computer hooked to it, the pings are much better on the dsl than they are on the cable

we've been attempting to get map cycling working.. but it appears there might be either a little bug in the code... or a little mishap on the small coding nessary.. and trust me... with amount of settings and addition code you have to input....it's not hard to simply add an addition space between to things... that'll mess it up....
We'll get on this ASAP ... till then... Gaborn... you pm box is right full
This is what i was going to send you...
"that's a bit of an oddity to me.... could most likely be a bug in the multiplayer mode itself..... did you try setting it back to normal with one map cycling....and see if it still does the *lost players* thing?"

Sweet Gaborn415, can't wait to check it out.. 2 days until BestBuy gets the dvd version in
My demo servers still up and running probably until the weekend before I go full version. I might just leave it as a demo haven't decided. Lair of The DarkFoss 67.162.65.126:7777
I used the tweaks you posted here Judas, Thank You! I had 10 people on Sunday night ran quite smooth no complaints of lag or packet loss. I didn't even have to stop folding on it

I hope to grab the retail box very soon, I have seen the full version and it has some sweet remakes including my all time favorite CTF map Facing Worlds (Face Classic) in UT2K4. The textures are so sweet
I have no space available to post some screen shots or I would, hint, hint, Judas

hehe well it's my old old rig 1gP3, 768 megs of pc133 cas 2 Crucial mem on a Tyan Trinity 400 1854s mobo, Herc 32 meg G2 vid card running Xp home. Not fast by todays standards but rock stable. Can't remember the last time I rebooted the thing. Good temps even while folding and hosting. My daughter's even been on it playing her Petz games during some of the matches. ...
