Need for speed menu resolution?
Hi guys. Got a quick question. Just started to play NFS underground on my PC. Everything seems to be ok. Nice fps and everything. But the menu screens when there is a fancy car in the background looks bad. Seems resolution is 800*600 or something like that. I play the game in 1280*960 so I am just wondering if this is right? Have newest patch installed. No big deal but I just got a new 9800xt card and I wanna know that everything is working the way it should? Thank's for your time.

you need to turn up textures and whatnot in your videocard's control panel.

... i think by default... NFS entire series will display the menu resolutions at 640x480 or 800x600... just the way they designedi t...

Thank's guys. I did turn up AA and AF in the control panel for the vid card. Obviously looked better but still low resolution. But if this is the way they designed who am I to complain

Yes, I'm one of those that hate to hear my screen click and change res all the time... This game, however awesome it might be, is one of those that is designed to keep menu in 800x600. nothing is wrong w/ your system.

yea they do that cause most people that can run it should be able to run it at 800x600. the menus dont get affected but the car in the backround does when u change res cause i noticed a slight drop compared to 1024x768. theres nothing u can do ingame its at full though so no worries

Correct. The menu's for NFS:U run at 800x600 resolution. I checked this by hitting the status button on my monitor. EA does that with alot of their game menus.

NFS 2-NFS5 has the monitor res set at 640x480 FOR SURE.... all the sports titles... whatnot.... i think just lately... due to monitor being guaranteed to run 800x600 no problem.... and that the standard lowest setting is in fact that now...
