Painkiller demo

Whoa this demo was awsome the graphics and physics are badass sorta like hl2 leak

i like it when u shoot one of the dudes with the wooden arrows it flings them on the wall and sticks there

i also noticed on the main screen it has hebrew letters all aroudn the screen like on the right corner left up down ect. :P

try it its very cool!

I have to agree. This thing is very intense and addictive.

ya same runs great on my pc dude alot of good games coming out i cant wait for them

things are getting a bit boring now so they better come out with painkiller far cry ect. soon LOL

it is looking like a very fun game indeed

BUT...am i the only one who isnt impressed by the visuals? i mean Doom 3, Stalker, Farcry and HalfLife2 are all looking far superiour.

(i set the demo at maxed settings 1280x1024 btw)

same here same settings but depends what card u got u got max aa and af. the models arnet that great but some visuals are really good

What sort of negatives are you noticing? Anything in particular?

Farcry was a far better looking demo imho

The graphics to me are nothing spectacular. They are pretty but not what I expected and I have them maxed out (yup, my radeon 9500 pro can do that). The gameplay is what got me. I hear all of these freaky sounds yet nothing even made me even twitch. Not scary in the least. (which is what I want) and it seems to be just kill and kill and kill and nothing else. Maybe the full game will be better but it will need to be much better to get my money.

i couldnt agree more wertret, r9700 pro still rocks. 9800 pro is just faster, and the 9800 xt is obviously faster and can be overclocked nicely.
but the pixelshader 2.1 doesnt really create any new amazing effects, just better performance when its in use

im downloading this demo from nvidias site and im getting 205-25kb/sec looks similar the doom3, cant wait to try it

My ONLY real complaint about these demos is when they don't include a Save option. Even if it were just an automatic save at some point, that would make me happy.

I wonder why they DON'T include it?

I think it's cos it's the demo and they want to make it more challenging..
I won't even consider on buying a game like this without a save option

it looks stunning

but the gameplay is boring, its just hack and slash zombies.
i only played the first lvl but the gameplay is pretty boring. but this game really does look near perfect everywhere and the havok physics engine is amazing

OK...one other thing:

In the Palace level, the very first sequence, there's an armor on top of a pedestal in the center arena area. The first time I went through this I was able to get onto that pedestal and get the armor. Since then, I can't.

I do see an option for Rocket Jump but it's disabled....or at least I can't seem to assign anything to it.

Anyone else find a way to get up there? I think it might be that you have to jump on top of that vase before it tips over.

You jump on the vase and then jump onto the pedestal. If you smashed the vase/canister or whatever it is, then you are screwed.

The gameplay just remind me of Serious Sam. Enemies keep coming and coming. I will admit though that the physics engine is great.

I do not understand what I am picking up though that makes you go crazy and kill stuff with one shot with ease. I do not know what that is or if it is some combo of buttons or something.

I did just now get that armor again. Yes, it is the vase that's key to getting up there. The thing is, you have some kind of grapple device by using the right mouse button/secondary mode of the #1 weapon. I was hoping it could be used to grapple up.

As for that 'berserk' mode: I think it's an automatic function when you've killed a few enemies in fast sequence. But, yes, I'd like to know more about it, too. I've experienced it several times and it's AWESOME!!! You can even kill the opponents up on the high places from very far away if you just focus on them and press the left button.

I use weapon #5 and the primary ammo. Just keep shooting them as you back away from them.

EDIT: Has anyone found any of the Holy Items? So far, I haven't and wonder if they're in the demo at all. I'm not asking where they are, just IF they are?

go for that little bit of potbelly sticking out from under their chest armour i just waded in with the moulinex whisk and took them out fairly easily , shoot them im the head and chest all you want and no joy target the stomach "boom" bitch goes down

Ok, here are some tips from me.

1. Save ammo when there are only a few mosters coming at you. Use the grappling hook like thing. Throw it at the undead and it will whip them back at you and it is easier to get the 1hp when their body disappears.

2. Bunny hop and you move fast. This is a good way to cover distances much quicker.

3. Do not toss explosive stakes when you are close to the demons, it hurts.

Oh yeah, how to use the rage like ability. Before you chose your level on that map screen, you will see a card on the bottom right. Click on that and you should have 272 money and 2 cards to chose from. The bottom one allows you to use that ability once per map. You have to bind a key. Use it wisely.

The other card is to start off with 150 Hp instead of 100.

Oh yeah, you seem to find more gold coins in game if you use the grappling hook on the vases and caskets and what not.
