Morrowind Choppy and Slow?

I started having some trouble with Morrowind a couple of days ago. It got to where it was taking over 5 minutes just to get to the options screen. When I finally got to playing, it was worse than a slide show it was so choppy.
Well, after trying several other things, I finally bit the bullet and reinstalled Windows 98SE over itself tonight. WOW!!! The game plays better than ever and the loading from start to actualy playing is now less than a minute.

So, if you're having some sluggish play, you might want to give that a try. Just pop your Windows CD into the drive and run the Setup. It refreshes your system without having to reformat the hard drive.

After reinstalling Windows98SE as explained in the original post, I've been playing the game today while waiting on AT&T Broadband to show up to hook us up with Cable Internet service.

Anyway, I'm now seeing as high as 100 FPS inside the buildings and even up to 50 FPS outside. That's not AVERAGE, but I am averaging incredibly better performance all the way around since the reinstallation.

The game really rocks! now.
