probably over the total crap releases of 3.8 and 3.9.
3.7s are still the best.

My 8500LE 64mb (230/230) AGP card... with cat 3.9 would push a steady 29FPS (640x480)
it would nail 60+ with no sound turned on..
Omega 3.10's seem to push it to just over the 30 mark..
I'm CPU bound.. as it's running on a 950mhz duron.... at the time....

60 without sound? Hmm, does the sound variety do much? Cause I beat the game with everything default except the vsync and fps limiter and i got 40s in hallways with no guys, like 20s in medium ish areas with a few guys and like 10s or even high 0s (7, 8fps) in big open areas with lots of guys shooting at me. Of course my CPU is complete shit along with my interegated sound. Would a sound blaster live! help much? They're really cheap now, and I think they're a lot better then via interegated..

Make sure Specular is turned off. That is probably the single biggest performance hit in the game.

You add -timedemo to the command line, or something like that.
