Hey, XBOX
I know a diversion, but what's the deal with paying for online gaming & then...On hook up, they want a credit card, now...wait a minute, it's already PAID for -What the heck am I missing in this! The game won't start online till you commit to a credit card number, after paying, something is seriously wrong with this picture!
Anyone done this SPAM deal, least that's what it looks like. OR/ Feel free to enlighten me to this practice.
Cheers

not sure I understand this, are you saying you are paying monthly and they want your card details again for the same thing?

Dollars
$89 for a one year sub/internet, with a game 'Mech'...Ok, it's paid right?
So why is MS asking for a credit card number, after paying for the service, that's been paid in full -To register?
This sounds like serious BS, or am I alone on this thought?
Cheers

Wow you guys aren't the brightest. The credit card number is for upgrades that might be available for purchase, i.e. new levels.

Not for me.
Not the brightest, guess that's debatable -For these people that insist on an outlay of almost $500 for a TV based game, heck that would BUY a computer...You know the real thing that does more than one function.
What PEO's me off, is that online CAN'T be done till the damn credit card number goes in; I for one didn't intend for my credit card to hang loose on this bloody thing!
Feel sorry for those stuck behind an Xbox or PS2, that they would feel obligated to do the online-rip-off-of-the-day thing (gaming). I'm not saying that either are bad, just the online thing.
Who pays for levels on a PC, nobody.
Merry Christmas

you pay for the starter pack
then you give your credit card number of set up so they can bill you after your time runs out (12 months for the starter pack here in Aus)
and they will bill you unless you state that you dont want to continue the service

and none of the downloadable content has cost anything so far and i have seen no word of any coming up that will cost anything either
the downloadable content is to get more out of the games or patch them.....
i dont think they will charge for Live content..but IF they ever did it would be a safe bet that alot of live subscribers would give it up as a bad joke

I have it straight now {Thanks}, just had a problem giving a 'gift' that could/would use my credit card...later; for someone else! So it seems I was correct, I could get billed with this gift...later!
Yes, I entered my credit #, in order to have the bloody thing work; This is not a Best Business practice, @ least from where I'm sitting! It's like a freebee "Use-AnyOnes-Credit Card @ will -After 12 months, without an authorization!
This gift is Bogus, for the sender!
Thanks, Markius I get the picture now & I watched Mech online, damn....It is still an over priced piece of BS....These people need to get a computer!
Cheers

I'm impressed!
That the some real people exist here I always take a second step back when an 'Auzzie' or 'Canadian' step forward, they usually work harder at common sense
After a grudging credit card apply -(It stinks, particulary if this is a gift and 'they' don't have a credit card, meaning it's highly possible to end up with an unkown bill~For whatever reason!)
After watching a few play's, the most notable & objectional factor, (MECH) is that most players 'steal' other peoples 'Kill' pot -Life/weapons. That just confirms for me that this is for the wanna b PC player. As the rules are generally followed on PC gaming and respect for other team mates!~Just does not seem to hold on XBOX live at all. -Point, three consecutive kills, one team member took two of everything and the other took one; neither made the kill and only one (taking the two kills) had less than a 35% involvement -Leaving the 'gift' xbox player almost dead....Having done all the work!
Thanks, Markius -Kudo's (Correct on all points!)
Meanwhile XBOX live is a monkey and the PC is still for real game players.
Though the games are good.
The only reason a PS2 was not bought was due to the return rate, one store had 15 a week returned; where the XBOX averaged 5 a month -All appeared related to using DVD movies, both XBOX & PS2's -According to one major electronic store manager. PS2's by far have greater selection of games.
Cheers

OT
OT, to a point!
Why not...Why the heck is ATI giving China rights to producing the card, rather have the tia do it; if it's not going to be made in Canada!
Basic Xbox -Got caught up with JP, just wish there was a way to get more fences, limits the game too much!
Cheers
