Half-life 2 System Requirements ?

I hear that the half-life 2 system requirements are the following:

The minimum system spec is currently targeted at a 700 MHz PC with 128 MB RAM and a DX6-level video card, eg: TNT2 etc, meaning you won't need a supercomputer to run Half-Life 2 but don't expect to see reflective water,dynamic shadows and bump-mapped textures.

The game running at reasonable detail eg: 25/40 fps, requires a 1600Mhz cpu, 256 mb ram, GeForce4 Ti or Ati Radeon card.

In real life you need the best from a new game so I would recommend a 2000 cpu, or higher 512 mb ram or higher, GeForce4 Ti4800 128 ddr or ATI Radeon 9600 pro.
IF you've got the money ATI Radeon 9800 pro.

or Geforce FX5900 ultra

The more power the better but not essential with this game.

..... 2500+ @ 3000+ (2160Mhz).... should do it..... my radeon 9600 np..however.....

Hurrah! It looks like I should be able to play without a problem. Wonder if I can get away with FSAA though

...i've never needed FSAA.... i used it a few times..but i have a good monitor... i get better results (less "blurring" in places) if i crank up the resolution...

lol.... Purely classic.... when the benchmark comes out... i'm gonna test out my P1 90mhz @ 120... with 80mb ram... and 256kb video.... windows XP Pro sp1.....and the sound..well.. it's the oldest ESS tech....

that is very good going for a new release at this time.

espeicially when you look at max payne 2 specs in pcgamer mag.

estimated min

3 1ghx 256mb 32mb card at this time.but i have seen from the mag on occaision they do get far from the mark at times.

uh.... maxxy.... you'd have to somehow get at least 64Mb of ram in there.... and at least a 1042MB hardrive....

i think so, but only when the visuals arent better than Chrome, cause Chrome is talking 'bout real sh*t here....i cant ONLY turn on 2xAA and 4xAF while playing (35-71fps)....

It should, if they keep the curent hardware requirements. That's a pretty fast computer.

However, Doom III was originally expected to work best with GeForce III...

Chrome is a FPS. kinda like DuesX but not as into getting bio inplants . It's a very grafical game with some what good AI and game play story is kinda weak but i have been playing it all week and havent got bored yet i would say it is a must buy just to pass the time while we are waiting for half-life 2
