Re: Borderlands

I remember reading some very classy comic books when I was a teenager. Gorgeous art in each panel. This is what this game feels like, only that I can now not just fantasize about it, but walk my virtual self in them. The visuals of this game are out of this world

Re: Borderlands

I guess so. The difference is where in the cartoon you can see in the background some nice "paintings", here you can actually walk there and see them from close.
Very refreshing game.

Re: Borderlands

A small update.
The FOV does change even in single player, when using vehicles.

Re: Borderlands

I want to clear something up for any potential buyers.
While the shooting aspect is like a FPS, the way the game plays is not. The developers and publishers call the game a RPS for Role Playing Shooter, but it is not, in my opinion, accurate.
What it is, is a dungeon crawler shooter, very similar in mechanics to Diablo 2. Lots of dropped loot, various missions of the kill everything in sight variety, and spawning of enemies on the way and back from there.
BUT, it is done in a very good way and because of the high quality of the actual shooting/action, it doesn't get boring or feels pointless as other similar games do.

Re: Borderlands

Have yet to play it but "dungeon crawler shooter" seems spot on by the impression I've gotten. Not one I'm going for as a singleplayer game even if the environment is tempting to try out, but with a friend or two it should be a blast. Is there any LAN support or is the multiplayer all about internet?

Re: Borderlands

Neat website there. I hope to try it at some mini-lan or perhaps when I eventually get that HD5850 card I have plans for.

Re: Borderlands

There is a problem with the game. For the weapons etc it only shows up to 4 attributes because the text box is not big enough/text is too big!!!
http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com...ad.php?t=80932

I will try the solution soon, but here it is.
Quote:
Go to your Borderlands install directory.
Nagivate to %BORDERLANDS%\WillowGame\Localization\INT\
Find the gd_globals.INT file. MAKE A BACKUP.
Open the gd_globals.INT file.

Replace
Code:
AttributePresentationTranslation="$NUMBER$ $CONSTRAINT$ $DESCRIPTION$"
with
Code:
AttributePresentationTranslation=<font size="10">$NUMBER$ $CONSTRAINT$ $DESCRIPTION$</font>
You can also adjust the size from 10 to 8, or 12, whatever you wish. Save, and enjoy! Thanks to all those involved in hunting it down.
Taken from steam forums from the poster psykoteky

I just tried it with font size 8. It seems to work. ( I don't have any 5+ item right now)
