Whats the longest amout of time you ever played games for in one sittng?

topic

It was about 30 hours when I first got chrono cross for PSX. That game is probably one of the best games I ever played.

EDIT:Oh crap, can one of the mods add an option for "More than 36 hours"? I accidentally pushed enter.

Sonic Adventure 2 wins that award - which is odd considering I know only think it's a 'reasonably good I suppose' game. The emblem hunting, however, was maddeningly addictive and I ended up playing for around 16 hours straight. I stopped only when I was actually falling asleep whilst playing the game. I turned the game off and fell asleep for another 16 hours to compensate.

It was all fun, though. =D

If you took a break to go to the toilet or grab some food - is that still counted as one sitting?

> 36 hours, more than a few times-

Remember when Gran Turismo 3 came out for the PS2?

When I had the second of my three major back surgerys around that time and couldn't sleep for long periods of time- That game was the "s**t" back then, and I completed it more than a few times. It passed the time quite nicely and took my mind off of worse things. That probably isn't the only game I've spent more than 36 hours on at one time, my PC has gotten a good workout over the years too- I'm often awake for that amount of time anyway. (not TOO often, but more than 99% of the people in the world I am sure)

digitalwanderer is an unknown quantity at this point

Half-life.

When I got into that game, I got IN to that game! I think my longest session was about 20 hours or so, give or take a few.

I would have to say Command & Conquer Red Alert took me the longest for one sitting although since I go quite often 3 to 4 days without sleep......I did start out with Red Alert and played it until I beat it, installed Red Alert 2.....played it until I beat it......then installed Yuri's Revenge and played it until I beat it.....I dont remember just how long it took though. But I remember saying good night and good morning to my wife a few times and seeing her off to work. Not sure if it counts as one sitting though......I had to go get a 12 pack of Pepsi 2x during the session....kept running out.......

I was hoping for a long session with Generals when it came out......great graphics......but I beat it in 7-8 hours........using china I beat it in less than 7......I was hoping for something better.....it had a year's worth of hype and build up.....what a let down

That sounds familiar.

edit*Actually, now that I think about it, I remember getting in trouble as a kid playing Mario and all those Atari 2600 games WAY longer than I should have. I doubt I had the ability to stay up that long back then, but I remember ALL day and ALL night gaming.

Yeah, I would say that if you were only getting up to get food or use the bathroom it still counts as one sitting.

I remember I spent some 7 hours playing this one mission of Command and Conquer (the original) once. I slowly (yeah, slowly!) built a base engulfing the entire map. Fun!

Actually, what am I saying! When I came back to Japan this summer (where I am now), I was laid over in Chiang Kai Shek International Airport (in Taiwan) for over 12 hours. I played the Legend of Zelda on the GBA for at least 10 of those hours.
