if i were to list them accordingly, the first would be RPG followed by action, driving first person shooter and lastly real-time strategy....

have you played the classic Deus Ex?
then for RPG I'd go with classic baldur's gate series along with NWN
Indiana Jones is a fun action game too.
FPS would have to be MOH for sure and then probably Mafia.

tried that one, not that good actually........(i've played tons of games, to me some are just great but some are just average games.......--->splinter cell is just perfectly great, UT03 is ok, nfsHP2 is average, and to me Morrowwind really sucks, not my type)

SOF2 multi player- Yes it is older- but VERY fun- I'm sure you must have tried it. If not, go down to the bargain bin and find a used copy for 15 dollars. Get the gold patch and if you are in NY, go to quakeshit.com for a great server.
Also the FREE game RTCW Enemy Territory MP is pretty good too.
If you haven't tried these games, give them a shot.

Some may disagree (well probably many, but...) I thought Wizardy 8 (RPG) was alot of fun. It beats the heck out of that top-down/3 quarter perspective stuff for me.
Action? Bloodrayne, The Hulk, X-Men 2: Wolverine, Enclave....
Racing? MotoGP 2, Rally Trophy, 4X4 EVO 2 (old and arcadey, but fun)
FPS?...Hmm....to me, they are "played one, played them all" I'm not a big fan of FPS games. No suggestions....
RTS? C&C Genitals...not really into RTS games either, but the C&C games were always fun.

I feel the same way. Too much crap. The last game that I played that was real decent was Postal2. And everyone thought it was boring and too long of load times... as for the load times their shorter than MOHAA, so I don’t get the big deal... Er uh anyway, my ideals of a good game is somewhat questionable.
I like games that have "stuff" to do in them, with no one way to get out of every situation and they actually give you a reason to want to do these things. Thief series, ss2, DX...
What makes a game fun? I'm not sure. I'm guessing its a range of emotions felt playing the game. Excitement, hate, anger, or maybe even love. The gaming industry needs to realize that its like any other item entertainment sector. It has to give us "stuff", intrigue, and adventure.
I can enjoy games without these things, but truly epic games usually include decent story elements. So no, all were getting now is MMORPG's with no soul unless you play in a community, where it might as well be an over glorified chat program with fancy clothes to acquire. Hmm... I could probity make money off that.

What about Dungeon Siege, I thought that was a good RPG its somewhere between Diablo 2 and Neverwinter Nights in terms of gameplay
Aliens vs Predator 2 is one of my favorite games Scared the sheet out of me, one of the better FPS and you can get the AvP2 Gold edition for $20 or less, just don't play in the dark

Hmmm...not really? It has action, but the best way I've been able to describe it is it's like GTA3 but set in the 1920-30s and has a MUCH slower pace. (Cars just weren't as fast back then. ) The main focus on the game to me was actually the story, it's a definate single-player experience and is linear..but it's a GOOD one and it's the most compelling plot to me since Max Payne. (And I REALLY liked Max Payne...I can't wait for the sequel this fall! ) The whole game is actually a flashback as you start out the game talking to a cop telling him the story of how you got involved in the mafia and your career in it, and you play out all the highlights.
Cool as hell, fun as hell, EXCEPTIONALLY sweet graphics and attention to detail in the game, plus it's just fun! You're not a total psycho killer like GTA3, you belong to a classy gang. (I know, I'm romanticising a violent and illegal activity....I'm a sucker for the 20-50's era and the "simpler days" )
It also has a "free ride" mode that cranks and has a bazillion little side missions for fun for replayability, and you unlock different options/cars in that the further you get in the game.

Great, except me 40Gb main drive died this morning and I'm still trying to get the 80Gb all set up to run her...aside that it's peachy.

splinter cell, ~yea awesome game, i highly recommend it, i give 92 out of 100......its actually one of the best game i've ever played.....the graphics, the game play, the sound, the scenes...... whew, what a "not to miss" game....
side note, since you guys recommended me to get mafia, so i did get it in the end 5 minutes ago...(i hope i enjoy the game.....and hope too that i can run it, cause i cant run silent hill 2 any one know why?? when i click on the programme using the correct cd, nothing happened, the mouse just gets into "processing status" for a few seconds and Walah, nothing!!??
