??? Have any of you tried RUNE lately?

I know it's been at least 2 or 3 years since I last played this game. It was on an AIW Rage 128 32 MB system with P-2 400 the last time I saw it.

Someone just picked it up recently and was playing it again. Knowing I had played it, I was asked for a little hint here and there.

So, I just installed it again tonight on my newest rig and I can't get over how pretty it is. I'm running it at 1280x1024x32 and every available option turned on or at HIGH. Ragnar almost moves TOO FAST. LOL

Never even heard of it. Is it by any chance an RPG? Just curious because I used to play a free online mmorpg called Runescape and I'm wondering if there is any relation between the two.

Not lately, but I might remember something. I "almost" completed the game some years ago....

RUNE is a viking-story, cool game powered by the unreal engine. A kind of FPS, except you smash people with hammers, axes etc.

I might post a few screenshots. But there is/was a cool demo released for it. It plays in 3rd person using the Unreal Engine. There are still some avid fans who play online and have made many, many mods for it. I'm really surprised you haven't heard of it.

If you're interested, it'll likely be in the bargain bin or in jewel case.

digitalwanderer is an unknown quantity at this point

Guilty!

I did that trip too of replaying it on me nice box with all the eye-candy maxxed & AA & AF, beautiful game! (And fun, I really do enjoy a GOOD dungeon crawl now and again. )

What's interesting to me, from a technical standpoint, is just how much of the detail of these games I was missing the first time or two through them. Having to reduce settings to get a game to play smoothly, for instance.

And it makes me wonder just how much I'm missing NOW by not having a 9800 Pro! LOL
