Official MGS4 thread (post with spoiler tags)
Well the game is out in 2 more days.... I can't stop thinking about it. Its pretty messed up. I booked work off, I was going to get 2 days off but now its 1 day. Unfortunately, I didn't preorder at an EB that has a midnight opening.
I stepped on some spoilers on some boards, nothing too too big but its only the tip of the iceberg. The ending should be a powerful and sad one, I think some of my assumptions should be correct. Awesome soundtrack from what I heard so far. 5 acts of goodness, I almost done MGS3 Subsistence right now to recap about the Philosphers. I bought the essentials pack as well, but I didn't get time to finish portable ops. Loads of theories on the characters of MGS3 and who really are the patriots.
What are you doing when its coming out? This is like a real christmas to me! Look, I even gave up my avatar and weekend for this game! I really am on Metal Gear Crack! This is PS3's moment to shine.
So post what you think of MGS4 so far after June 12, but with spoiler tags!

Got to act 2 end of the first boss fight. Should be compulsory viewing for all biologists as everything mentioned so far could be technically feasible (look at previous sci fi works - they have often manifested itself into reality).
It has borrowed a few ideas from blade runner.
Overall loving it so far, it's exceeded my expectations then again all the previous games have.

its better than the reviews... ill do act 3. the game gets insanely action packed sometimes, sometimes not enough quiet sneaking. but its a different idea and it really works realistically
if you go to the camo viewer, rotate snake. the detail of him in civilian clothes (won't say what he wears or when, it will spoil it) looks creepy real....
and SO MANY GUNS!!!!!!!!

You're not playing it right if you think it's all action packed. The variety of weapons are there so that you can play the game however you feel like. I challenge you to complete the game with no alerts or kills whatsoever.

its insanely hard, but of course im going to try it. in the later parts its a lot more calm. my friend finished the game, he said he cried. if a game really can do that to me... i will write him a letter.
TIP: you can set your codec to be routed to your bluetooth headset! I am going to try it out in a few mins. Now you just need the bandana.

Did not know this. Will make me feel a bit bond! Maybe when technology advances you can have real time conversations.

Absolutely awesome game, cant say anything else about it. so much in this game.
brilliant review on GH, i saw a guy bitching on DH about the scores compared with GTA4. GTA4 rocked as well and I think people need to wise up with stupid comments.
PS3 FTW !

GTA4 was a good game, but to me it feels more like a technical layout for new GTA games to come.... close to a 10 but not quite. San Andreas was stunning though. anyways i will not start a debate of mgs vs gta, both my favorite games.
I just finished it, and the message in the end of the game is intelligent. It was amazing how one man could take so much abuse. I think why the game was so good is because Kojima took the ideas of fans and put it into the game. Lots of fan theories were true. I was surprised to see I received only 43 weapons.... it felt like more. That means I need more play arounds. Next week my bro gets his new XBR4 46" and home theatre downstairs, so I will be raping that for a bit.

rofl... no way man. mgs2 was the last and terrible port. it could do well, but its like some games that feel best on the platform it was originally designed on. on top of that, the little tricks and easter eggs they have are only for the console and you can't exactly reproduce it on a PC (and now the PS3 with the sixaxis). The graphics itself are utterly creepy real at times, it looks like a life like model. You can see the razor burn on characters faces, tears and expression while playing. I can't ask for much more graphically except another jump in facial expression which will take another generation.
I have never seen anyone take so much abuse as Solid Snake as he did in this game, a true hero. The final underlying theme of what America is true today.

It won't happen not with the many ps3 references in the game and the message "for use exclusively on playstation 3" during install.

Okay, I don't think I'm going to play this game, finished MGS2 SOL and MGS1 playing bits and pieces with my brother and friends, so please tell me why Snake is aging so fast if you don't mind. That's the only thing I find kind of funny, even if I know Snake is originally based on Kurt Russell's character in Esape from L.A.
Edit: no its okay, I googled it.

that isn't even the big deal, the in game content is very PS3 exclusive. There are no PC games on bluray anyways yet. Last port of MGS was crappy, keep it on the consoles. Its like Halo; even more surprising that a shooter feels BETTER on a console! Its something rare I can say.

Pimpsta, not saying that the game isn't good, I don't know, but it could force you to eat bananas from your ass and you would still praise it if it was a sony product.
With some better compression it could be released in few DVDs, but I agree, it doesn't look likely for now.

pffft... honestly if Sony doesn't pull it up I will jump ship. They only kept me for that one game. The rest is awesome, but sony has lost ALOT of exclusives (most notably GTA). I wouldn't be surprised to see Final Fantasy and Tekken move multiplatform at launch.

that's why our PC's have had non stop hits like nothing after Crysis? haha. anyways thats a diff story all together. These consoles are getting very powerful, obviously shooters are better with a mouse and keyboard most always (Halo is one exception IMO). My 8800GTS was a complete waste of money.

Crysis was a hit? To whom apart from magazines and the industry supporting games with reviews etc?
About 100-150,000 units for this game is nothing.

Crysis was enjoyable, but ok guys lets not turn this into a debate thread. Let's keep it to questions, thoughts, opinions and user reviews of the game.

i beat it on the second day i had it, but considering how hard i worked the game is LONG and fun. If i ever get as physically aged as Solid, i would like to be half as badass (he's the shit =) if you played the game you'll get it). Very good replayability. And MGS4 will never be on any system other than PS3 unless it gets hacked (even though the newgen systems are PCs technically). Every chance Kojima/MGS4 team gets, they slam the other newgens. Billy (Bill Gates) made a bad decision when he chose the HD dvd add on. For the record, I'm not a Sony fanboy, I'm just an Xbox/microsoft hater and a fan of the Metal Gear/Metal Gear Solid series.
=SPOILER=
Anyone else think Johnny looks waaaay too much like a young Snake? Me, my brothers, and friends think so. when we first saw his face in fact.
