Assassin's Creed
I picked up Assassin's creed today for £27.99 from a local retailer on town, it was a bit of a bargain really, brand new
So far i'm really enjoying it, the game's been really fun and the gameplay also seems really fluid, the way the player's inexperience makes you feel responsible for the fiasco of the assassination at the start is pure genious imo.
Does anyone else here play Assassin's Creed? And if you do what do you think of it?
Btw if you haven't got it i would definately recommend going out to buy it, if you can find it cheap enough then do it, seriously it's awesome

I found it awesome and addictive until about halfway through but then it was getting repetitive, and it gets worse towards the end. Loved the historical setting of the main story, and while the higher settings demands a good system (especially CPU) it was perfectly playable here with a little bit of tweaking. My favorite fighting style was with the assassin dagger rather than the sword, though the latter was necessary sometimes. The character animations are beyond everything else I'v seen and helped to keep the action up in otherwise dull areas.

I bought it for the 360 when it came out. A lot of people found it repetitive, although I loved it. The combat is awesome and challenging. The storyline is very different and very enjoyable too.

If i see a guard on his own i always assassinate him lol, atm i'm saving the last citizen (11/12 so far) in the poor district of damascus, i've found all the view points in this area and i think i've done 3 investigations so i can assassinate my next target.
Counter attacks ftw

The game is fun, though quite repetative. I like the SciFi take, but I think it was terribly executed and felt more annoying than anything that drove the story. I give the devs credit for trying to make something different.
I love the environment, it's second to none. If they varied the missions up a bit (and they really don't progress much from the first, saddly), and really made the city more of a "free roaming, GTA-esqu" feel, the game would be an instant classic. Still, I love the combat (throwing people from towers/roofs/cliffs), and the ability to get around the entire environment is fun and fluid. The sequal will be something to behold, I'm sure.

I loved it until the very end. The combat is great fun. Counter-killing a huge mob is awesome, and running from roof to roof and clib over everything never gets boring

While I agree I enjoyed it enough to beat it and was happy playing through all of it!

Not surprised you didn't. I had one look at the gameplay video and thought "I gotta play me some of that!"

I had everything cranked to max and never once experienced a slow down. But then i run crysis maxed as well so no surprised. Was expecting worse frame rates after reading the gamespot review though
Running a single 8800GT btw, so you dont need anything amazing

Got a 8800GT too and was running maxed out. I was surprised as those view points have a lot of scenery on screen.
Loving the game btw!

I bought it 3 days ago but as yet, havnt had time to install.
Did any of you find the control's at all akward? Ive read that its a bit cumbersome with mouse and keyboard and am wondering if I should get a convertor for my Xbox controller (or just hack it into a USB plug)?

Nah the controls are great, i prefer the PC Controls to the 360 controls
Don't hack up a 360 controller whatever you do, you can just buy Straight USB ones anyway

I think the sci-fi intermissions make the game interesting, because you have 2 characters to learn about instead of just one
I'm stuck on memory block 5, the investigations are getting ridiculously hard now, destroying 3 merchant stands in 3 minutes, becoming anonymous and THEN getting back to the informant? Jeebus :\

Thanks Mousey, I'll try it first then (if I ever get a chance!!)
Dont have a 360, so was gonna use an old Xbox controller. Having seen the previews of GT5 and GTA IV though, I think I might treat my daughters to a PS3

You can buy USB 360 controllers, get one of those instead of hacking up an xbox controller

Its just a sequel of Prince of Persia with a different name .. Almost everything is stolen from PoP only new addition is the ability to walk freely around the city .. Im not saying anything bad about it (being a PoP ripoff is a good thing) but it gets boring after a while.. Anyhow its just the 1st part of a trilogy and the sequels will hopefully make up for the missions being all the same over and over again. The ending is missing .. every game i played had an ending of some sort that can but doesent have to have a sequel .. this game just doesent have an ending.
The game is not at all demanding my brother is playing it now on his e4500 w/x1950PRO all maxed out 1440x900 (XP) and has no slowdowns at all.
Anyhow looking forward to a sequel .. soon i hope.

Got it installed last night.
Took me an hour or so to get to grips with the controls, and Im still not 100% with them.
The game seems ok and certainly looks good, although my daughter was wittering to me at one point and I missed some of the story-line, so Im not really sure whats going on .
