Assasins Creed Fps/crossfire!

hey guys - bought assassins creed for PC ..game so far is pretty kick ass! The only issue i have is FPS - I am running

AMD athlon 4400 X2 (stock speed atm)
Creative SB xtreme gamer
2gb OCZ 4000
2 1900 radeons CF (stock speeds)
a8r mvp 32 deluxe MOBO

all drivers (including bios and windows XP 64bit PRO) are fully uptodate.

i have no virus scanners running in background and i do not have trojans or any type of virus' on the pc.

im currently running all details maxxed out at a res (max that my crt monitor and handle( 1280X1024 32bit).

i DO NOT have AA or adaptive on.
i DO have AF X16 and HIgh def option enabled (does not make a difference in FPS)

i assume turning off multisampling will help out..and post effects off as well?

i know the 2 cards are not up to speed but does AC for pc support CROSSFIRE?

thanks everone and game on!

System Specs

For what I've read this game is supposed to scale well with Crossfire/SLI, but it's also very CPU heavy. I have a similar CPU as yours and have been strugging in places. Going by the in-game graphics settings you could try a lower value for Level of Detail. For some tips on editing the games .ini -file, have a look at this article: TweakGuides.com - Assassin's Creed Tweak Guide
