Pissed Neverwinter Nights 2...not running on nvidia 8600 GT

I've had this problem for some time and i cant seem to find any kind of solution.

heres what i have in my rig:

AMD Athlon 3200+ @ 2.4 ghz
1.5 GB GEiL DDR400 RAM
nVidia XFX 8600 GT 256-bit 256 MB Memory
MSI Nforce 3 250gb Mobo
Creative Soudblaster Audigy 2 ZS 64-bit sound card

And i can run Crysis, Oblivion, Gears of War, etc at even the higher settings and get a steady 45-55 fps..

all of which is quite a bit more than what the game requires and it runs extremely choppy and even on the lowest settings its mostly unplayable unless inside a building... I have the latest drivers from nvidia..and ive tried the omega drivers already and they made the game run even worse..so i went back to the nvidia drivers..

anyone have any suggestions??

Done your game patches? Turned down in game graphics? Reduced resolution?

Massive nwn/nwn2 fan. I have a pair of 8800GTS 640mb's in SLI and it still aint the smoothest game ever when I crank it up.

I wouldnt feel bad im afraid it's just one of those games that's a system killer, bioware themselves have acknowledged this and produced a few guides. Try this for starters Neverwinter Nights: NWN2 Running Slow? Obsidian's Guide to Better Framerates
